Command Crisis: Callsign - Ariah Studios LLC

The free version of Command Crisis: Callsign is now available on the Ouya store!

Command Crisis: Callsign is a forward scrolling shooter game set in outer space. Fly through space in your single Dagger fighter and destroy waves of attacks from another empire. The ships get bigger and faster, armed with more firepower, as you complete different missions within the game.

The game currently offers five story missions and an endless "Endurance Mode". Play the story missions to earn funds to upgrade your ship and then play Endurance Mode to try and set a new online high score.

    NEW CONTENT COMING SOON
The full version will be available by the retail launch in June. The new content will include four additional ships to acquire/upgrade, additional story missions and additional mission types including escorting, bombing and more.

Looks fun, but your ship moves really slow, and it lacks a lot of things to make it feel nice while playing. Why did you choose U as your menu select instead of O like every other game?

From the screenshots it looks a bit like Raptor: Call of the Shadow (except this one is in space).
I'll be keeping my eyes on this game, and look forward to the full version in June!

The controls will be re-done in the next version. U/Y were used because that's what was natively supported for the Ouya controller in Game Maker Studio. The main goal was to get the first free version submitted and approved by the March 28th deadline. So I have since setup the Ouya patch for GMS and the standard O/A buttons will be used for navigating the menus and triggers will be used for shooting primary and secondary weapons in the next release.

Additional artwork and a whole new soundtrack will be included in the full version too.

And yes, you do move pretty slow in the beginning, but upgrading the Engines for ships increases your movement speed. Any other comments/suggestions for future releases just let me know!

Updated version is now available in the store. Menus now use standard buttons like O and A for selecting and backing out. The update also includes basic 4 player co-op. Players 2-4 can hit the O button to join in on a standard mission or Endurance Mode. So go check it out and let's get it out of the Sandbox!

More content and updates are still coming before the public Ouya launch in June.

Well, fire buttons U and Y do nothing. Also it will be better to have highlighted menu item in a different color than outer glow. Also SHOP option on a first spaceship - cannot upgrade anything :\

I think I replied to you on FB, but just in case it helps anyone else out I'll reply here too.

Y is not a fire button. Only O and U are fire buttons and U is only for secondary weapons which the ship available in the free version does not have. The O button has been known to stop working. Pushing it kind of hard seems to fix the issue for me. That is also one of the reasons I made the bumpers and triggers firing options also.

Not sure why you cannot upgrade anything in the Shop though. That should be working fine as long as you have earned enough funds from successfully completing missions.

Everything starts at 100% in the shops and each upgrade increases by 10% up to a max of 200%. It will say "Maxed" instead of "Upgrade" or "Insufficient Funds" if you are fully upgraded.
