Excellent. Most of his stuff is totally awesome. Really looking forward to seeing what he comes up with for the OUYA. :)

This is cool but at some point isnt packing an ouya into a mobile device the opposite of what ouya did in the first place? It seems like if you wanted this done ... it would be very much more effective to get the ouya framework installed on a tegra 3 mobile device for a mobile ouya than this.

But it's not as much fun! WE NEED TO MAKE OUYA DO ALL THE THINGS! :D

You guys are fast! I watched him mention this yesterday in his latest video and I thought "I should bring this up on OUYAForum" and BAM, Killswitch a.k.a. the eagle eye ninja, spotted it way before me. :)

I found it by luck in my content searches. Usually I ignore videos in those searches but I know people here mention him a lot.

WTF buddy? You gonna spring a little common sense? Better save that for the official ouya forum because the unofficial ouya forum has a strict policy against common sense.

I know it can be done in theory, but has anybody done it? If so, did they put up a how to guide?

Then you still need a controller...I guess you could just use your Ouya controller, but it wouldn't be integrated into the case.

I've done it with my SGS2 although that 480p screen.... poor small 800x480 screen....

Part 1 is up
Even he says making it mobile is redundant. But it's just something to do I guess.

I learned alot about the ouya from waching this...like the ouya will run on 7.5 volts...I learned alot from the rasperry pi mobile game console he made too, I kept thinking...he should do that with an Ouya! :)

...I think its all about taking a device and making it into what you want. The ouya is perfect for mobile gaming...

...I'm a bit less of a "hacktivist" but I would use a car display and a battery to let my kids play ouya on long trips. (more likely I would provide 12v from the auto plug)

It's interesting from a "I want to do that" point of view but it is redundant for those who say Ouya should be making these.
For some reason I've been tempted to do something like this and Eucrow starting one that he posted here, cemented that thought.
It's like his Wii U/PS3/X360 combo thing. Intrigues the former computer building and repair side of me and my current contractor/carpenter side of me.
Not necessary but if I had the systems I'd do it or if I decide I'm bored one day...which I might do...

This guy has been turning consoles portable for ages now. It's not about whether it's useful, it's about doing it because he can.

That said, there would be a few minor benefits over using a tablet or a phone. No superfluous hardware (GPS, GSM/CDMA radio, etc.) to drain power. No having to awkwardly clip a controller onto it. Natively use the OUYA Discover store and have all games work, etc. Worth the effort? Probably not, but they're there.

:( Was hoping to finish mine before he set his sights on the OUYA. Still its awesome to see what he comes up with.

I could see some value in a portable Ouya and will monitor progress of the various builds.

Very cool!

Him and Eucrow need to stop making me want to attempt the project.
Now I don't think Ouya should make these. Just the contractor/carpenter side of me...

Do it, do it, do it :) I agree with you though I don't think OUYA should make these, I do think however that these will be very popular from an 'enthusiasts' standpoint. What I'd love to see is homemade portable OUYAs take on a role similar to a Dingoo or Caanoo.

I loved my Dingoo until it finally took one fall too many, haha.

I've been watching your project and this one with enthusiasm. Can't wait to see what awesomeness ya'll come up with! :D

Damn, I miss my Dingoo. :miserable:

Part 2, hurry up! I want to see the housing on that thing. The last video showed a clip of it, and it looked ugly. :D

I need to edit the first post with the videos.

I like his; I'm probably going to try and make a 5" version of it but I don't like the analog stick placement, right over/under the dpad/face buttons.

I sure do want a spare bluetooth module out of a controller!

Nope, I meant part 2. Didn't know it was already out, I checked their Youtube page and it wasn't there, yesterday.

I like the idea.
I've owned systems like the JXD S7300, and I can see the value in limiting the scope of the device to keep it optimized for gaming.

First post updated with link. Did not post promo.
It's the final part of the build.
You can win it also, pay attention to the bottom of the video.

Why win it when you can make it! :) Come on...you know you want to start making yours ;)

Just saw the last part, I like how it turned out.

Looks a lot like the Wii U controller lol.

OUYA should hire this guy for the OUYA 2.
