View Full Version : Analog grips and black faceplates

I painted my faceplates black and put grips on the analog sticks. It turned out pretty well, I'm happy with it. I used heat resistive paint from Ace Hardware (http://www.amazon.com/KRYLON-I17067A00-RESISTANT-SPRAY-PAINT/dp/B002129UEC/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt) because of the quality. It dries up fast and gives it a non-sticky matte finish. Spray paints usually make the paint mushy and sticky to the point where just touching it leaves fingerprints marked on the paint. The paint also chips off overtime. At least that's my experience with these type of spray paints. I wanted to hand paint them with acrylic paint, but I don't have small brushes.

The analog grips I had laying around and were meant to be used on Xbox360 controllers. I never really thought of using them until I painted the faceplates. They ended up fitting well, they're pretty tight and give the analogs a nice concave shape. I can't remember the brand, I didn't have them in their package. They were loose in this spinning desk pen holder that I have. The case I'm not going to bother with, I'll most likely buy one or make one myself.

The picture's a bit blurry on the preview, but the grips look like the Xbox360's 'default' analog stick grip. These are thicker and don't feel as smooth though.

Dude, I can only think of one other person who changes his avatars almost everyday like underwear. Going for the record? :D

Controller looks good.
