I tried the 360 version and it wasn't too bad. Not sure why the OUYA verson is double the price compared to the 360.

Why shouldn't it be? Some devs are in this to make money. They are guaranteeing significantly less sales on the OUYA than on 360, so they're trying to make it worth their while to port it.
Just a dev without a hoodie

What if target sales the ouya for $80 and best buy sell it for $160, who do you think is going to sell more? Do you think people would think double the price at best buy would be accepted if their excuse was we sell less ouyas than target but want to make the same money? Don't you think that people would look at best buy as shady?

The reason why devs will make less on the ouya is that they haven't sold enough ouyas. Its like what came first the chicken or the egg? You have to take the hit and lower the prices first so that later when the lower prices help sell systems you make more money later. If you charge more no its going to turn people off and make less later.

I don't remember the exact amount of credit ouya gave me for the shipping delays as a kick starter backer but I still have like $8 left of it. Not a lot of good games and a lot of the good ones are so over priced I won't even give the Dev my free money.

I get what you're trying to say, but the analogy doesn't work b/c Target and Best Buy are both big retailers. The Ouya discover store is tiny compared to Microsoft's Xbox Live Marketplace and it huge install base.

A better comparison would be a company selling coffee for $5 at Wal-Mart, but selling the same brand for $10 at Trader Joes. Way less people shop at TJ, so the company will up the price to try to insure a profit.

Took a whirl on it last night and I have to say that I enjoyed it. I can play a TON of old school fighters on MAME, so it isn't anything 'new', per say... but I really enjoy the controls. They are very responsive and fluid. The fact that it offers 4 players is probably gonna make it a must buy for me. I was kind of shocked to see how many stages there were on the overhead map. Looks like a lot of action there. This is gonna be one I have to get.

I picked this up last night and really enjoyed it. I'm going to wait for a thread in the "current games" section to get in depth but this is the first game since "Meltdown" that I've really gotten into.
