    Gravity Gods - Distropolis Games

My 1-4 player chaotic brick breaker GRAVITY GODS is up on the store now! It's inspired by the classic games WARLORDS, ARKANOID, HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS with a dash of WARIOWARE.

    GAME LINK

NORMAL mode is completely unlocked for free. Purchasing the game for $3.99 unlocks ARCADE and TEAM modes. ARCADE mode is a fast, no-frills single particle game that swaps the chaos of NORMAL mode for a bit more tension. TEAM mode places players in a new 2 on 2 formation for a modified game dynamic that retains the chaos of NORMAL mode.

I'm a single person dev team ... so I can't really promise anything ... but I would like to add even more power ups and "god" events. Right now there are over 30! I may also add additional modes in the future.

You will only need to buy the game once. That entitles you to all updates and possible future content.

This game is quite fun! quite a different take on Breakout! My only thought is please make the Pause button the System/Home button instead of 'Y'.

Thanks ... I'll check out switching the pause button to the OUYA home button. Some controllers don't map very well to the OUYA home button so ... hmmmmmm.

I remember dev controllers having that issue way back.. but that issue appears to have been fixed in later kickstarter/retail controllers if I remember right..

Oh ... I just mean X-box/PS3 and the like. The HOME buttons on my 4 OUYA controllers work fine.

I couldn't figure out how to start this game. There is a message on the screen that says that I can move the paddles left and right and I can but that's as far as I got.

What controller are you using? It sounds like you are in the tutorial. You will need to move the LEFT STICK all the way left and right to trigger the next step in the tutorial. After that, it will ask you to use the RIGHT stick to tilt the paddle. You will need to move the RIGHT STICK all the way left and right to progress past this step in the tutorial.

Let me know if that helps.

You can also turn the tutorial OFF in the settings. Just remember to use R1 to call/shoot the ball in NORMAL & TEAM modes.

Yes I was stuck in the tutorial. I was using OUYA and Xbox360 gamepads. After disconnecting the Xbox360 gamepad I managed to pass the tutorial.
I'm probably dense but I can't figure out why someone won.

Each person has a bank of shield squares ... behind the shield squares is a solid ring. If you hit an opponent's ring, they are out and become a "ghost". The goal is to be the last person standing.

You can set the game so that ghosts can still fully play, but can't win ... or ghosts can only break bricks and not strike a killing blow.

    Make sense?

I see, I didn't realize the ghost thing and thought I was still in
Maybe you could add more audio-visual feedback - a "death" sound and maybe some kind of an exploding particles effect when the ring is destroyed.
I think I'll turn the ghost players off so I can better see who got eliminated and when.
