And Hugo. It's not a radical shift away from it. One of the biggest differences gameplay-wise is that we added some features to the game to balance the game. That game can get one-sided quickly and the other player wouldn't have a chance to fight their way back which would ruin the game. Now, we encourage merging of your pieces by awarding you with acorns. You can spend these acorns to regain some health, improve your attack damage for a turn, or added defense for your next turn. It really changes the dynamic of the game and if you play well, you can get yourself back in the lead after losing a bunch of health. And in the same vein of balancing, we modified the attack damage and defensive damage of each unit to make the game fair. You no longer will merge pieces together and feel like you got a weaker unit than having three separate units.
Of course visually it differ's quite a bit. We polished the game and tuned it specifically to the OUYA to try and get the best looking game possible. And the squirrels and environment have been completely replaced with our own assets. Everything looks cohesive and matches the visual style.
Out of curiosity, how many of you recognized the game from the OUYA Create game jam?
