Living in the Southeast + Snow + Working For Utility Company = All Night Ouya Time.

So, as you've seen on the news, the Southeast is getting hit with 'Icepocolypse 2014 ver 1.2' right now. (I know everyone in the Northern states are laughing at us like crazy.) So, working for a utility company that provides power, I was informed that I was to come in before the stuff started to ramp up. I left work today around 3:30 PM, went home to take about a 1 hour nap and was back at work just before 10:00 PM. My co-workers and I have been waiting for this thing to kick into gear (thank goodness right now it is just sleet that we are getting... as long as the ICE stays away!) So, in the meantime... what have we been doing? Why, playing on the Ouya, of course.

I brought my bag in all my controllers and setup and hooked it up in the call center to one of our 40" flat panels on the wall. We've played Bombsquad and Killing Floor: Calamity mostly. I think I might have sold one of my co-workers on getting an Ouya. I noticed when I was at my desk doing some random stuff, he was over there playing KF:C on his own. Made a few comments about 'I need to get one of these.' Hopefully, if things continue as they are and stay as SLEET, then we'll be playing some more as time goes on.

So, thank you, Ouya, for making what could have been a very boring 'sleep over' at work, a night of fun and laughs.

I keep ping-pong'n back and forth between the Ouya and the PS3 (FF:Lightnig Returns dropped yesterday). As long as the weather holds up, it'll be video games all night / day. LOL

You can always tell the transplanted northerner's in the south in these situations.
They are the one's out on the roads when the news crews are filming.

Made it back from Walmart, right as the Snow-Pocolypse 2014 was rushing in. Hope the ice doesn't cause the power to go out (no OUYA Gaming, ughh).

A portable power supply, and battery powered mini-monitor for the OUYA would be kewl.

Good Luck! Ice isn't good for anybody. Ice storms in Michigan usually mean broken branches and blown transformers. Last big ice storm took our power out for about 3 to 4 days, and power outages are routine for my area because our grid is outdated.

Glad to see the Ouya is a nice emergency entertainment blanket. I have been thinking about trying to rig up some sort of portable power source. I could run my Ouya and my Pico Projector for quite some time on a car battery.

Thankfully, working here in the office, if the power goes out, we are on a generator and that means that they restore power here first before anywhere else. We can't do our jobs if we can't get online. So, the entire city might be down, but at least we have power here. LOL Been playing Killing Floor with my co-worker all night. Finally got the Golden Ark.
