No more Weekly Recap videos from DayOfTheOuya

    Full story here: http://dayoftheouya.com/new-game-rel...f-the-ouya-tv/

This is the last Day of the OUYA Weekly Recap ever.
I have just switched jobs and I need my full attention to focus on that new challenge.
However, that decision didn’t come out of nowhere since Thomas and I have been discussing the future of Day of the OUYA since a couple of months.
The OUYA market hasn’t grown as we had hoped and while we would love to dedicate more time to this project we just can’t justify spending that much time on a shrinking market with very little potential to ever do this full-time.
Sad news, I loved the show.
Good luck with your new job Tim!

Bailed effectively. I spoke this morning with a few peeps on chat about it. Apart from the job change, I see it as a loss of faith during what is nothing more than a typically quiet period for the industry.

But still, it's their choice to jump a ship that has no intention or sign of sinking. I'm more excited for OUYA now than I was this time last year. There's some fantastic games on the horizon, and I don't think OUYA have played all their cards in this game of Microconsole poker.

Still I wish the DotO guys good luck and all the best.

Bailed.. This screams "Weak" to me. Aside from the job thing, which is completely understandable, it sounds like they lost faith.. but what did they expect? Games in the thousands? Large communities for an up an coming console? They see things quiet down and think "this may be the end" when really it is simply a lull.. this is the quiet period for all developers normally. They create a site and give up just as fast because the going got tough. While this may sound 'fanboyish', it isn't the case. Nothing disgusts me more than people giving up because it got a little tough, that they won't stand up and fight for something they believe in. That is why they made this site was it not? Because they believed in the console?

Who knows, maybe I am overthinking it.. either way, good luck on the new job.

Yep! Weak indeed. My guess is they saw the hype around Ouya and wanted to grab their 15 minutes of fame off of its back like many others tried to do. Then when the fame wasn't instant, they bailed. Seen it before and will see if many other times in the future I am sure.

Why should they stick with something they aren't happy with? If they choose to leave the OUYA community then I respect that 100%.

Too bad... I always enjoyed the videos. But the last few episodes were kind of weak cause of the lack of games they brought. Still loved those guys.
Our game Black Hole - A Classic Arcade Dual-Stick Space Shooter
Available in the OUYA store now!
Killswitch - "There are 302,456 OUYAs out there, now no one will have to ask again."

Agreed. I myself left once already and came back for reasons I now forget. Tim is a nice guy and has an account here which made him a powerful, yet nice player in our little army. However, people just get priorities greater than a console along with having their personal interests shift naturally with time.

It's a shame to see them go. There are other YouTubers out there, and the videos will keep coming, but it's never good to see someone putting an end to something.
However, at least they DID bother to say "it's time to go". Over the years I've seen websites, blogs, tuber's and more just sort of .. Vanish!!!
I'm still desperately waiting for the day that StrongBad does his next mailbag, and Homestar comes running!!
And whatever happened to Top of the Pods, anyway?!!

It's good to know these guys have ended up with a proper job, have a bit of security, and maybe one day will be settled into their new lives enough that they can find time to come back and do it all again.
Good luck to them, and I wish them all the best in the future.

Keeping anything like that up on a regular basis is a huge effort! I've really enjoyed the videos and massive props for the DayOfTheOUYA team for sinking such a big time/effort commitment for all our enjoyment

Maybe other members of the community can pitch in and fill the void with their own videos?
