    Space Popcorn - Jayenkai

Guide your vessel through space, dodging the oncoming space debris. Normally this would be an Asteroid field, but this time it's much worse than that...
    This time it's....

Survive for as long as you can, as your death is all but inevitable!

I've made this game with big TVs in mind, so apologies if you either have a really tiny screen, are sat far too far away from your telly, or have bad eyesight!
For what it's worth, I have pretty bad eyesight, too, so I tried my best not to make everything too teensy and tiny, but.. It just felt like the right sort of game to have oodles of little tiny things floating around the screen!!

You can grab Space Popcorn for your OUYA, now!!

I just spent a few minutes with it and I love it! While the popcorn bits are a tad small, they're still somewhat easy to shoot. It took some getting used to control-wise though since I'm so used to twin-stick shooters and this one actually uses one stick and a button! WHAT KIND OF DIVINE MADNESS IS THIS!? It's really fun, and has great music!

    Oh yeah, music credits..
    "MEWSIK BY AL O'DARE"
Music was created using the iPad app "KORG Gadget" which is alarmingly easy to use.

This is good, I tried it on my Nexus 7 first, but found the touchpad controls a bit difficult. But on Ouya, it's very playable!

I am having alot of fun with this game. Great job.

Idea: Make space popcorn 2 multiplayer

I was playing and fantasizing about a split screen or different color popcorns that when you shoot them adds to the opponents screen/color. (If colors are used it could be all on one screen and popcorns would only impact the player of the same color.)

I love your videos. Saves me a download if I'm not interested, and has me rushing to Push if I am.

Definitely not what I expected when I saw the name. I was actually thinking, "what is this crazy bastard doing this time".
Asteroids was probably my favorite on the 2600, not one could touch me on that game way back then.....

I can't imagine that a straight forward multiplayer version of this would be easy to keep track of onscreen! There's already far too much chaos onscreen as it is, without requiring the user to watch for colour matching and other stuff.
    ..
    However....
As I mull over the multitude of "why nots", I find myself wondering about the "Why Not?!"s..

A sequel for another day, perhaps. Maybe something in March.. Watch this space!!

I think my motivation for this is that as I was blasting away at the space popcorn, watching them multiply I was wishing for more of a reason to keep shooting...

...I was having fun...and then thought that it would be fun to "give popcorn to another player"...so they are overwhelmed and crash and burn...

Now that you mention it the colors is a bad idea, But consider it food for thought...after all it would be pretty fun just to have two ship (four?) multiplayer and see who can live the longest!
Perhaps with a toggle to turn friendly fire on/off.
