My Little Rescue Helicopter - Jayenkai

Guide your little chopper through the wonderfully blue skies, rescue all the happy little fellows and defeat the onslaught of enemy aircraft.

Yep, it's yet another highscore-based retro game by Jayenkai!
This game started as a simple plaything with a helicopter, and slowly became a nice little rescue/shooter.
Seemed like a good idea at the time... *shrugs*

    Enjoy!!

You can grab My Little Rescue Helicopter for your OUYA, now.

    Nice little game. I noticed:

    - Compatible with PS3 pad and keyboard combo.
    - Didn't show up under "Ouya Games" in Baxy launcher, nor "Android Apps", but only under "all apps", where the icon was the same size as the OUya games. Maybe the app info regarding it is different from most other Ouya games?
    - Exiting the app after booting it from the Ouya launcher made the Baxy launcher crash continually.

Can we turn the helicopter to face the left at all?

    1. Good to know.
    2. Oh yeah, someone mentioned that the other week and I forgot to check into it. Coding at this pace leaves little things like that as background tasks!!! I'll look into it. .. Some day... If I remember....!!
    3. *shrugs* wouldn't know where to begin with that kind of problem. Suggested method of fixing, let the Baxy people know how to make it crash, and they might look into it. Sounds like something on their end, rather than mine.

    4. No!
Two reasons. First, that would require artskills above and beyond my general abilities!! (Yes, I could just do a "flip the sprite", but given the chopper nicely rotates forward and background, it only makes sense that it would spin around nicely as well.. I'm very fussy about things like that!!)
Second, I'd need to make the controls more complex, otherwise you'd only ever be able to fire downwards (since shooting up currently relies on your being able fly backwards!!)
As easy as that might be with two thumbsticks, I'm also trying to work keyboard controls and touchscreens into the mix, and then it all gets much more complicated!!

You could do it like Choplifter - leave the controls as they are now but let L1-R1 switch direction the helicopter is facing.

I LOVED chop lifter 2 on the gameboy.
