Push to your OUYA: https://www.ouya.tv/game/Soul-Fjord/?pushToOuya
SANTA MONICA, Calif - Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 - OUYA and Airtight Games today announced that Soul Fjord is now available exclusively on OUYA. In Soul Fjord, Magnus Jones must bust moves and bad guys on his way up the tree of life in a quest to reach Valhalla, the underworld’s hottest club, and save us all from Ragnarok. The game is now available on OUYA for free with in-game purchases.
A rhythm-based roguelike game, Soul Fjord fuses two distinctly different types of games, as well as two different themes. Portal lead designer Kim Swift and the team at Airtight Games have created an experience where gamers have one life to fight through a number of dungeons on their way up Yggdrasil, the tree of life, timing their attacks and combos with the rhythm of the game’s music. Austin Wintory, an award-winning composer who has scored games like Journey, Monaco, and The Banner Saga, created a musical style that blends funky fresh sounds and Viking tradition.

So far, really enjoy this game, it is groovy.
Kind of reminds me of a mix between Space Channel 5 and every top-down roguelike, ever.

This game is frankly amazing, but as I mentioned in a previous discussion the current iap are just pointless and noone really would want to buy records which are available in enough quantity in standard gameplay. The only effect of having this option is that it feels slimy and some people take one look at it and call records "premium currency" that hinder gameplay as "mandatory microtransactions" http://www.destructoid.com/review-so...d-269579.phtml
Honestly I thought that was a horrendous review as that seems to be it's main point of argument, but just looking at the comments shows how easily people are influenced by bad journalism. I honestly think you'd make more money and be received better by critics if you dropped the microtransactions and just offered a one off price ($10-20?) with minimal free content such as only the first level. Records are in enough supply in-game already that no changes would be needed in that regard.
Besides that I'll get back to showering this game in praise; I'm not even a fan of rhythem games and I find the combat so riveting that I'm not sure how I'll operate in other games without the groove and sense of immersion and completion that this game delivers - this might lead me to taking the whole rhythem game genre a bit more seriously. Thank you Airtight Games, Odin, and funk, for bringing this game to the OUYA.
Thanks for the feedback and glad you are enjoying the game. IAP and free to play are always going to be a point of contention for gamers but we tried to create the best possible experience for OUYA players without making it feel like we were nickel and diming you to death with microtransactions. Our goal was to bring a fun free to play experience to the OUYA platform and it seems to be going pretty well so far.
