Yea, I know the game needs a restart.
As I said, I am revamping the game. That includes all the animations, attacks and gameplay.
Thanksfully I now have an artist to make the animations for me instead of doing it myself.

Warzard, what do you mean by tightening the controls? Having the characters respond immediately to an attack?

I hope your game will gain from that

    Now some points to improve:

Animations: the chest and the legs seems to me too robotic. Limbs seems attached to a woody log, not connected properly (muscles, etc) to an human body, failing to recreate a good, natural feeling of movement. I hope your new guy will manage that.

    Visuals:
the 3D model of the fighters seems pretty good, maybe legs are too short and chest too rigid. The ground seems to me OK. The background is really TOO empty, if you can't manage to add some 3D particulars, consider to add a detailed image (of an arena, for example).

    Interface:
The circular buttons seems extremely amateurish, needs to be redone better and maybe replaced (I don't like the actual choice, three laterally, and one above fighters' shorts. Seems a "Censored" thing: comical).

    Moves:
the gameplay seems not enough deep. Badly balanced moves, and the collision system seems to me inexact.

If you want to do a COOL game, listen to me

    Bye!

You need to have the game respond as quickly as you press the buttons or pad. Also, you need reactions to hits, can be comical if you use thing like this as inspiration:

Maybe stamina loss when mashing buttons, things like that to add flavor to your game. You could make the game deeper by using fighting game concepts like Block Stun http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Append...mes#Block_stun Check out more of these concepts on that link, not all of them apply to a boxing/MMA game, but can give you some ideas to fine tune your game(even if you don't improve the visuals). I also think a crowd scene is needed in the background, maybe music too(Rocky 4 style).

Yea, you are right. Timing of everything is essential.
In the previous version I made it so that when you hit the opponent you can't hit him again while he recovers from a hit. This makes for a much more dull and slow game.
However, if you allow hitting an opponent while he is recovering from a hit it can make the gameplay too superficial because you will keep button mashing.
I tried to add a sequence of 3 punches like in virtua fighter but if I allow the recover hit then it's very easy to win against the opponent.
The subtle difference between this and virtua fighter is that in virtua fighter after the 3rd bunch in the sequence it takes you a little while before you can make another 3 punches sequence.
I also downloaded virtua fighter 2 to my old xbox and gonna play it once I get an HDMI cable

I also added crowd sound, not sure if it will be annoying or not after a while.

    Hi everyone!

Major update for Concussion Boxing is coming very soon!(Uploaded for review).
I have updated the animations with a pro artist animations. I have added shadow maps and generally improving visuals.
The gameplay is yet to have hours of test playing for balance but at least some of the issues you mentioned before were addressed.
Take a look at the new screenshots and I hope that you will soon like it enough.

The big update is available on the OUYA market, please give it another chance if you already tried the older version.

I will, pics look like an improvement

    UPDATE:
I made sure I played the latest version for you last night.

I think the AI just tends to cycle through all the attacks, no strategy in it to me. I still think the animations are odd especially the leg sweep, to me it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the game.

Couldn't find a block button which is a must in a game like this. Kudos for trying such a tough type of project to build though.

Thank you for trying the game.
I think the animations are a big improvement but my artist had a limited time to work on them.
I was planning to add a defense button but it just didn't work out gameplay wise.
I am actually a bit clueless about gameplay and I think without a pro/hero game tester it would be hard for me to make a good and balanced gameplay.
Playing games is not enough to be a game designer.
And I have played Virtua Fighter a lot and even then it's extremly hard to make a gameplay even remotely as good as virtua fighter.

There is now also local multiplayer, perhaps you can play against a friend and give me your feedback on the gameplay and how to improve it?

Anyway, thank you for trying it.

I don't really do much couch gaming tbh so wouldn't be able to help you on that front. As I have always said I think the best thing would be to just concentrate on punches until you have something working, light and a hard punch, block would simply be an animation which stays on for so long then restores to the normal fighting animation. Meaning you would be limited to how long you could block for.

I think because of how much of a straight out boxing title it looks like, it would be better without kicks. Just my views but always willing to play the latest updates and give you my feedback.
