In order to get play games you have to root to install gp and enable a mod to have most games work for most people and this mod has been having issues for some people.

With amazon you don't have to root and the games we are listing in this list are working without rooting or getting mods so its more user friendly for people who don't want to risk messing up their systems.

Daniel, make sure you don't have any extra devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.) plugged in when you run the game. It automatically works with the ouya controller. Also, you may want to consider being less sarcastic with your questions if you want to continue getting responses.

I'm sorry that you perceive me as such, it was however not my intention. Perhaps something got lost in the translation (I'm not from a English speaking country). I'm also not much for smileys.
Either way I would not have reached out for an answer if the game would have "automatically worked", which it doesnt, at least not for me.
I also searched on Youtube for videos on Max Payne on Ouya and they played it the exact same way. I wonder what the problem might me.. Would have love to re-play this wonderful game.

Thanks for that. I think it was your quotes around "perfectly" that set me off; they suggest that you consider me a liar or an idiot, you don't need them.

As far as only being able to use the dpad, I had the same issue when I first ran the game. Then I exited the game, unplugged my keyboard, and restarted. The controls were fine after that. So my questions to you are:

1) Are you using the OUYA controller?
2) Do you have any usb devices plugged into your OUYA?

I would hate for someone to buy a game at my suggestion and then not be able to play it. Let's figure this out.

In other news, I tried Final Fantasy IV, and as I suspected, its touchpad only. I played for a few minutes, and it looks good. I'll probably end up either hooking up my mouse to play it on OUYA or just play it on my tablet.

Hey Javier thanks for the input. If possible, would you mind answering a few questions to help sort all this out?

1) Is your copy of Max Payne from Amazon?
2) Do you have a kickstarter or retail controller?
3) What firmware version is on your controller?
(Find this in Manage-->Controllers-->Pairing--> Y (bluetooth settings)-->tap on the settings icon on the right side of the screen-->Firmware version)
4) Are you rooted?
5) In the OUYA dashboard, top left, is your controller set to controller 1?

And if you want to be really helpful, try Max Payne again with just the ouya controller (and no other devices plugged in) and confirm that the controls are not working for you.

Goombaslayer, I'd like you to answer the questions above as well, if you don't mind. I just reinstalled Max Payne again and confirmed that I have it working fully with my ouya controller.

Max Payne works great for me with the Ouya controller. I have a Kickstarter unit and controller. Installed from Amazon and it just worked. I had no other peripherals connected to my Ouya.
