So what do you think has been the big reason for your delays? Because when you look at how long ago it was meant to be released.

There are many reasons and it's hard to name a single one. The porting process took longer because the original developer stopped aiding in the porting, the immense amount of graphic assets that had to be done, the beta test which took longer than expected, and finally the certification process which is very slow for most platforms.

On top of that there were out-of-scope enhancements done to the game which added some dev time. I think they were all worth it though.

There are 10 types of people. Those who understand binaries and those who don't.

The original developer stopped working on it? Why on earth would he do that?

Erm... That may or may not be something that's a sensitive matter.

The original developer only stopped helping with porting the game.

EDIT: nvm me, I just got what you were saying.

No, that's ok, he's focusing 100% on Project Y and Project N. But in the end, I think it was better this way, because now there are more than one expert on Pier Solar code, so for the company as a whole this was a plus.

Ah that is ok. I thought it was for a worse reason.

I asked because while I am patient thanks to being a developer, a good number of your HD fans are getting impatient.

(Okay, not just because I am a developer, I have Doctor Who to keep me excited lol)

In the end, the long wat will be worth it for most, people have been dying for an RPG with some length. There are a few smaller ones out but we need something substantial.

The creative director Fonzie likes to focus on the 16 bits games like project Y on the MD and project N on the snes.
I worked with him on the original Pier Solar for the MD and still do now on another still undisclosed project.
I saw in your profile you like anime as well so I'm pretty sure you'll appreciate the new animated portraits and cutscenes of PSHD.
What took a lot of time for my part was creating the op animation. The designs and complex shading style is reminiscent of the animation of the 80s/90s I liked.
It was uncertain to be included because of the time it takes in drawing, coloring and compositing with filters several layers of animation resulting in hundreds of frames, but it was worth it in the end I think.

I see. I was just being cautious because more than a handful of times have I seen a question like that appear and the developer is caught off guard. I accepted your friend request and look forward to these anime visuals since I'm one of the few people that think anime is one of the best forms of art the human mind can concoct. Keep on being awesome, guys
