The Online Gaming Thread

This thread will be used as a way for us to share online contact so that this community can properly setup online matches. Let's get started. The biggest issue I have had with the OUYA in relation to social features is the lack of on screen popup notifications. The following two apps solves this issue. One app (On Screen Alerts) requires a external device within the same network to funnel the alerts to your OUYA. The other app (Flotifications) requires a rooted OUYA with Google Play.

In addition to one of these notification apps, I would use one of the following to actually communicate with other players. Gmail is always a safe bet and Skype should at least offer you voice chatting during your game session.

I may be up for some meltdown. What time Friday were you thinking? Would have to be after 7pm EST. We should really have a thread organized for game nights lol. So many games like Neon Shadow would rock to have a few nights a week when all the Ouya users can hit it! Or even a Google shared calendar for it!

Does that actually allow you to switch between skype/gmail and the game you're on? I would think the ouya would close the game when you switch tasks.

By the way, the Floating app does have one annoying bit, last that I recalled, it will constantly remind you of alerts even after you dismiss them. Aquamail is an app that I used it with myself and it would remind me over and over about the same email.
