    Twin Robots - Thinice Games

It's finally here! Twin Robots has just been approved on the OUYA store!!

Have a look at the trailer here, or queue the download to your OUYA directly from this page:
    http://www.thinicegames.com/games/twin-robots/

You can play 3 levels for free, both in single player mode & local multiplayer mode. After that, a single $4.99 payment unlocks the full game (28 levels).

    Hope you enjoy it! :-)

Cool game, I like the energy mechanics but it looks too easy.
Free levels (first 3) are almost the same so I don't know what to expect from the rest. I wish the free part showed me that.
I'm sure you know about the importance of the first 5 minutes, that goes double for the shorter demos like the one in this game.

I liked the graphics (had to turn brightness up), the robots are cute and controls and platforming is very good.

Thanks a lot!! Glad that you like it

@vatigo Thanks a lot for your comment! I agree with everything you said. But there is one thing to remember: those are the first 3 levels; they were built intentionally easy so a new player doesn't get scared before getting a hold of the controls, runs away and never comes back. The difficulty ramps up progressively through the game, and new elements and obstacles are introduced. Some levels will require fast reflexes, others will require you to stop & think about how to finish the level and others will require cooperation between the 2 robots. And after that, you can always go back to try to find the optimum path to beat a level and reach number 1 in leaderboards!

Also, I left the multiplayer mode unlocked in the demo so you can give it a go and see if you like it before buying. It's an important part of the game and I wanted people to experience it before buying (or not).

You can have a glimpse at what you'll get to experience in the rest of the game by watching the video trailer too.

Anyway, it's always hard to decide which content goes into the free demo and which not; I'm sorry to hear that you found the demo too short for your taste.

The only thing I can recommend you is to wait for a sale if you are not sure this is what you're looking for. Or, just ask me anything here and I'll do my best to provide an answer that can help you.

    Cheers!

    Twin Robots update is coming!

The main new feature is the ability to share energy between robots: in single player mode you press a button and the current robot starts sending energy to his twin, who receives it automatically. In multiplayer mode both players need to press the button to agree on the energy exchange. Thanks a lot to Andrew Perry for suggesting this "helping" mechanic!

Besides the new feature, this update includes some extra help in the form of tips: Looking at analytics I've found that the 2nd most common reason why players die is... jumping! Since run, jump and other actions consume energy you may die while doing these common actions. Now whenever you die like this for the 1st time, a panel slides in showing a related tip; this panel is shown only once, so it won't be like those constant reminders appearing again and again. Also, the gameover screen now includes some advice too.

I've also included a screen showing "demo is over" when you finish the first 3 levels, for clarity sake.

And finally, now the single player mode accepts input from any controller you have connected; it only read input from controller number 1 before, so if you have a keyboard connected to your ouya (which is recognized as controller #1) you were not able to play the game with your gamepad on #2. This should be fixed now.

I'm currently testing all these new features so the update should go live in a matter of days!

    :-)

I just wanted to state what amazing support the Devs have done. After I moaned about the controller issue, they went out and bought a PS3 controller to the same specs as mine and kept me posted of any progress. A BIG thank you to them for all of their hard work! Cheers!

I wouldn't praise me; I'm probably the biggest whinger at these forums and in general to devs.

Anyways, the update only partially worked for me. Please check your mail. It would be intersting to see if anyone else reports any issues similar to mine.
