I love the original 8bit versions of BoulderDash (hence my avatar) but all the updates since have ruined the purity to me. The most recent 3DS and XBox360 versions were dire.

I have to mirror this. The old classics are incredibly fun to play, a great trip down memory lane. But with these new ones, there's none of that magic. They look like something made in Multimedia fusion or game-maker with clip-art found on the internet by an inexperienced fan of the originals. They're too basic, bright and awfully amatuer looking at best.

I'd of preferred if they just updated it to something with a pixelated retro 16-Bit style. Or something a lot less colourful and better drawn to fit in better. Spoils the collection really. But hey, personal preference and all that.

Boulder Dash is awesome. If you don't like the newest games in the collection, just don't play them and enjoy the original ones here. Great stuffs.

What about their recent update from a couple years back on the Atari 2600? Can't get much more 8bit retro than that.

Anyway, if they are going to call it The Full Collection then I think it should have every one of them and every port to every system so that everyone can play the ways they remember it. It is cool that they brought Boulder Dash to the OUYA though.

If they hadn't I would have brought my own clone, RockRush to OUYA.

Those are all old images from the DOS version - I updated it for GP2X, Wiz and Caanoo a while back.

(includes original styled graphics as an option)

You probably still could bring it. There is already one clone on there. You might as well bring yours too.

The only thing mine would add is everything from the first 4 BoulderDash games (including slime & amoeba being available on the same levels) and a level editor. I'll see how my first game goes before I do anything on OUYA RockRush.

Sorry for the double post, but I've now actually had a chance to play "Boulderdash - The Full Collection"

Feck me. Avoiding the obvious misnomer (this isn't the full collection by a long shot), it's god-awful! The game plays so unbelievably slowly and the caves aren't the originals either. The original BD music is missing and it plays an awful, repetitive ditty in-game that drives you insane in nano-seconds. If you are a fan of the original BoulderDash, avoid this like the plague.

Terrible. Play the original BoulderDash on a C64/Atari/CPC emulator (or better still, the real machines) and see how different this is.

This is the worst OUYA game by a long shot.

No need to apologize when you can just use the edit button. Thanks. -Schiz

Well if that's not enough motivation to release your own game, I'm not sure what is lol
