Question What do you guys use for video capture?

Its been years since I messed with some pinnacle software and a capture card.

What software and/or hardware are you guys using now to records vids and demos?

This is what I got, the Elgato Game Capture HD, seems to work great. Comes with software that does the capturing, has (very simple) editing abilities (mostly cropping bits out of the video), and can even automatically upload to YouTube and stuff. Works with HDMI or component video, supports 1080p.

Up till now I've been using the Intel x86 HAX emulator plus fraps for getting the video, then editing it using adobe premiere elements (which my Dad mistakenly bought for me one time thinking it was photoshop elements. This despite me telling him I use Gimp, which does most things photoshop does but for free).

However, I'm looking into buying something like the elgato for recording straight from the Ouya

I've been looking at that guy. Do you have anything you've done with it posted?

I have a Roxio Game Capture. It works pretty well for the most part. I've done a few things with it but only posted one since I haven't had much time to work on others.
Here it is if you want to take a look. I did all of the editing in the software it comes with. This was my first one so I made some mistakes. But I won't mention them just yet in case you don't really notice them.

I mainly use it for streaming via twitch.tv right now. It integrates nicely with Xsplit.

There's an HD Pro version now that I've been looking into, but since I haven't really had time to do videos, it doesn't make sense for me to get it right now.

I do now, I used it to get the direct-feed capture of my game.

Well, just got myself an Elgato. I'd considered a Hauptang (or however you spell it), but reviews on Amazon seemed to lean towards the Elgato for what I was after.

It had better be good after all this

Nice choice. I was just looking into buying a recording solution myself and that's the one I will be getting

I'm mostly interested in getting it to record PC games/dev updates but would be a bonus when the OUYA arrives! It will work with the OUYA right?

Ok just watched the video, was that from the OUYA or PC emulator?

Edit... ok just read the title of the video... stupid me. Cool looking game btw
