    Update:

I've found one reliable reproducible crash on startup. If you press a button or move the stick around before the Gooze Loading screen comes up, there's a good chance it'll crash. It's possible that people seeing constant crashing have Ouya controllers that are constantly sending input events (your stick is slightly off dead center; really common among all types of gamepads either from the factory or after some usage. all games have fairly large deadzones for this reason).

The bug is in the Unity/Ouya plugin, so it'll take me some time to figure out what's going on and fix it.

In the meantime please try not touching anything after pressing the launch button. It might just work.

Sorry! Thanks for your patience, and thanks for playing or trying to play Gooze!

Thanks for all the help Saracen26 and timmytot666, after getting someone from Ouya involved I was able to track the bug down and fix it.

Please update Gooze and let me know if you have any other troubles!

I just pushed the first content update to Gooze. There's a new option in the menu "Randomized Level" that procedurally generates a new level every time you play! I also fix some audio streaming issues, a bunch of small bugs, and shrunk the game to 30mb (from 56mb!).

Very awesome game! Definitely one of my favorite exclusive OUYA games thus far, and I went ahead and chose the $2.99 option . However, I did notice that the game wasn't in the "Only on OUYA" category; if you ever do another update for the game, I'd say let them know in the section where you write notes for the testers that you would like to have your game in that category, and they'll put it in there (I did the same thing with Wrecking Balls Arena, and they were cool about it; it doesn't matter if it's still in the Sandbox or not).

    My personal constructive suggestions:

    • The crystals that the power plants use and the "enemies" that generate the ooze look a little too similar, and it confused me at first (I quickly learned the difference though). I would suggest changing the graphics (maybe even just the color) for one or the other so that they look a little more different than they do now.
    • For a while I didn't notice that there were health bars; maybe make them a little bigger or easier to notice? Perhaps have it so when you move the cursor over an object you'll get a bigger view of the health bar?

There might be a few other things I'm forgetting about, but those were the main two thoughts that came to mind whilst playing. Also a multiplayer mode where players are working together to place turrets, power plants, etc. would be pretty cool (I could see it working well as a local LAN game with multiple OUYA systems), with different colors for the turrets and power plants based on what player placed them. Great work overall!

Great game that I am enjoying and happy to buy but could we a get a setting to toggle the music off or adjust its volume ?

Its not terrible but it gets old very quickly when spending more than a few minutes on a level, loving this game otherwise Thanks
