No connection to OUYA servers. Safe way reset?

Hey all, I've noticed since Sunday that my OUYA is not working properly. I can't connect to the OUYA servers. When entering the store, it doesn't kick me out, but it doesn't load. I can use the web browser or stand-alone internet functions in games, but anything to do with OUYA is not working for me (Game updates, purchasing, discover). I have noticed authentication token errors pop up once and a while. The system clock is correct (which was an issue I've had before), and I've given it a few days, turned it on/off (fully) a few times, and the system was working fine after the update (so I can't really blame that).
Now, I assume a system wipe is the only choice (unless you guys have any ideas), but is there any way I can back up my game saves? I was thinking perhaps I could transfer to external storage, but doesn't the OUYA split the data (between external and main)?
Also... my notifications signals one message, but all is blank when you open notifications... but I assume that's just part of this.

I was having a similar issue yesterday, i was connected to my network but the discovery store wouldn't load anything and i was getting a pop up saying there was an issue with my internet. So i went to the advanced settings clicked on ethernet but didn't change anything just hit save and everything was back to normal. I don't' know if it was a coincidence or what but my problem was cleared up.

Just got home, turned on the OUYA, and now the controllers don't connect. Perhaps my OUYA is dying. 
EDIT: Finally got the controllers connected.
