I bought an OUYA today because I got a contract in Detroit and I'm not risking going outside. So I get the thing home and I can't connect to the internet because my hotel's wifi requires one of those dumbass sign in pages once you're connected. Of course OUYA didn't anticipate this and it just says it can't connect to the internet.

I tried sharing my laptop wireless with my OUYA through ethernet, but OUYA says it can't connect to it's servers when I do that. I tried tethering to my phone, but it takes forever and always fails right when it's about to finish. It seems to happen at the same spot every time so I have no idea if my internet connection on my phone is just dying at super inconvenient times, or if it's a problem with OUYA. I suspect the latter.

I tried downloading the update and side loading, but I can't get the OUYA into recovery mode, I plugged a keyboard into it and held ALT+PRINT+I and nothing happens, it just boots to the damned wifi screen.

Anyone got any suggestions? I just wanted to play some super nintendo games with my limited free time.
