Thanks for your comment 999, that looks lovely. It was also created by hundreds of people for what looks like a million dollars over a 4yr period.
As good as I think the 3d mariokart games are, I still love the flat tracks of the mode7 sprite based versions. There is just something pure about not having hills, it's just your kart and the flat race line.
I am also adding new things to the old too though to refresh it a little - with analogue steering, drifting, collection goals and achievements.

Sure, Mario Kart is a big name...it isn't something that can be easily cloned.
I think the 3D could be more eye-catching, but the retro-visuals are still cool! Instead of my points, I like what I see in your pics!
