Okay, I think I'm doing this wrong.

Setup: Samsung TV, Pioneer AV receiver, Ouya and Netgear ReadyNAS via ethernet. The Pioneer is the speaker for the TV (I have it set for the TV to use the Pioneer as its speakers in the TV settings), and I tried before to connect my Ouya via HDMI to the Pioneer. Doesn't work, so I put it into the TV. Tried both Kodi and SPMC, but there was always a crackling sound whenever I'd start a video; audio still worked, but it was annoying as hell. Tried resettings the passthrough properly (which I don't think I'm doing), and plugged the Ouya back into the receiver. No sound at all, not even stereo, but picture works fine. SPMC is loaded via autoboot, and I don't touch the controller, I use Yatse on my old Note 2 as a remote.

I enabled 2.0 channels in Kodi, along with passthrough; did not check off DTS or Dolby Digital (having them checked did not work either). Back in SPMC, I have stereo upmix, enable passthrough, Dolby Digital, and DTS capable ticked. Nothing is working. I think I have something backwards, and I've been searching this thread for an answer I apparently can't find.

EDIT: Still on the last version of 13, BTW. I tried the newer version based on 14 and it didn't work for me.

So, you know what happens when you decide to pick up the manual for your receiver? You figure out you need to manually set the connection to HDMI in the receiver, because it is a dumb receiver, and apparently doesn't notice what you've plugged into it. NOW passthrough works.

Still unsure if I have it set correctly all around, though. Is it Kodi that I basically set up everything for passthrough to work through SPMC, or do I basically ignore those settings and set up SPMC as if I don't have Kodi installed as well?
