Thread: SPMC - Koying

  1. #471

Latest Koying's Gotham RC1 has issues with few addons I used. All those works fine in stable & latest nightly build on Windows & Linux.

Well, which add-ons and which issues?

UplayHD & P2P-Streams , both say dependency not met. Manual copies works for P2P-Streams but UplayHD still got script failed.

The brightness thingy is a firmware "issue/feature".
Thanks for adding reboot on the Gotham build.

[EDIT] It's an "original" XBMC apk, with proper signature, so it replaces any XBMC gotham/nightlies you might have.
Thank you. Your spmc 12.4.2 (spmc-armeabi-v7a_12.4.2.apk) works great. And also runs well on fire tv, particularly the dts passthrough support.

This evening, i tried the xbmc gotham apk on fire tv

    xbmc-20140527-b0c75d6-ouya-gotham-armeabi-v7a.apk

Looks like this apk might be specific to ouya (???), since on fire tv in the system audio output screen i am not seeing the support for dts pass through like the spmc 12.4.2 does. Tried anyway with test video, and sure enough, no dts passthrough. Went back to spmc 12.4.2, and same test video works fine with dts passthrough.

Thought perhaps i needed to uninstall and reinstall, did following steps,

adb shell pm uninstall -k org.xbmc.xbmc
    adb install xbmc-20140527-b0c75d6-ouya-gotham-armeabi-v7a.apk

    Same result.

Now i'm wondering if i was wrong to even try the xbmc-20140527-b0c75d6-ouya-gotham-armeabi-v7a.apk on fire tv.

In the xda developers page below,

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=51586184

    , states following,

    XBMC Versions that work
    Frodo XBMC
SPMC 12.4.2 *Thanks Koying from XBMC* Download
XBMC for Ouya 12.3.2 - Download
    Gotham XBMC
XBMC 13.1 *Thanks Koying from XBMC* modified gotham version that works with fire tv and allows DTS, Dolby Digital passthrough. - Download

But the download link for xbmc 13.1 just takes you to the,

    http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/android/arm/

Sorry for posting fire tv related post here, but thought perhaps someone has tried xbmc-20140527-b0c75d6-ouya-gotham-armeabi-v7a.apk with fire tv and have success with dts passthrough.

    Thanks much!

    multipcm passthrough

    koying,

Would it be possible to add multipcm passthrough as an option to your 13.1rc1 build like it is in the Ouya version? aac 5.1 videos require me to power on and off my receiver in order for it to recognize the stream as multipcm. Thanks for your builds!

There is change in Gotham regarding settings.
    Yes, RTFM.

The passthrough settings are in the Expert setting.

    Confirmed, working. Thanks much.

Just enable "Dolby Digital transcoding" (with speakers set to 2.0; in passthrough options) and XBMC should transcode your aac to ac3 on-the-fly.

Now that passthrough is enabled in Gotham, does making SPMC the default launcher still break passthrough? As per https://github.com/koying/SPMC/pull/2
If it doesn't break anything this would be a great addition to SPMC in my opinion
