Thread: SPMC - Koying

  1. #401

Not the same issue, but I've had discovery version of XBMC mute the system volume without me doing anything. Had to raise volume in settings to restore. But it muted it so nothing had sound, not just XBMC.

Sent from my _______ using ________.

Managed to sort this issue out with a little research.

Even though it was only a case of SPMC being muted, the right thumb stick did not operate the volume level.
(In gotham the right thumb controls the volume bar)

I tried a usb mouse but nothing would unmute.

In the end i retrieved the GUIsettings.xml in ..... /.xbmc/userdata

In the audio string, a branch titled mute was 'true'. A simple edit of 'true' to 'false' resolved the issue.

Only thing i didnt try was actually plugging in a usb keyboard to see if the asigned mute/unmute button works!

At least i know how to resolve the issue now if it arises again.

I don't use spmc and the volume has muted many times on my ouya. So it probably a ouya issue not spmc at all.

    ^^^

Possibly, but with Gotham all working fine and SPMC not then i deduced it was actually to do with SPMC.

Am sure there is an easier way than editing the xml, but for now, it is resolved.

Yes, but they still haven't defined what "audio pass-through" is. Is it DTS and AC3/DD or does that include HD audio pass-through?

YESSSSSSS!!! changed it to HDMI and audio works now! I was worried for a split second when I changed it to HDMI from analog it made a screech sound for just a Millisecond lol

Yep, DTS and DD working for me. I don't have any HD audio files to test, though. Now hopefully Gotham gets pass through enabled in some fashion as well.
