Exactly😀 and all versions of xbmc/spmc have issues ATM getting one or the other to work

Hi, followed the link did everything that was in the post but my surround is still fucked (voices coming out of center speaker cant be heard, no rear speakers).
When using gotham I get sound from my 2 front speakers + center, but don't seem to get my sub working and rears working.

I was under the impression SPMC was supposed to fix the passthrough issues or am I missing something. Where do I go from here? Will I just have to wait?

If you did in fact follow Tinwarbles link the first line would have informed you that you did have the wrong impression.....pass through is still very much hit and miss atm
OUYA Inc are meant to be looking into the issue now

To repeat what I have already said.

As has been stated, multiple times, in this thread that there are issues with pass-through.

It is possible to pass-through AC3/DTS, but getting it to do so is different depending on the AVR you are using and it may not stick, meaning that you may get pass-through with the video you are currently playing, but you may lose it when you go to the next video.

The best thing you can do, at this time until the handshake issue is resolved which is what is causing the problems with pass-through, is to install "Autopilot" (to the internal storage) and set it to launch SPMC at boot. Then go into the audio setting in XBMC and deselect all the codec selections, set the "Audio output" to "HDMI" and the "Speaker configuration" to "5.1".

Now exit XBMC then reboot your Ouya. When it boots back up it should launch SPMC (XBMC) and all audio will be ouput as multi-channel PCM, which means that the Ouya is doing the decoding instead of your AVR, but you will have the same 5.1 audio playback as if your AVR was doing the decoding.

And you are ONLY going to get 2 channel with Gotham because the ONLY SoC that pass-through works for at this time is AML. DON'T USE GOTHAM if you want multi-channel output.

Alright thanks a bunch, my 2 fronts and center work perfectly now. Still not hearing rears and sub on SPMC using your trick. I should be able to hear those right, when set to 5.1? I deselected all codecs in audio options. (should i enable output audio to all speakers)?

Are you using Autopilot to boot directly to SPMC? Did you reboot your Ouya after setting everything up?

No, you don't need to enable output to all speakers.

What about your AVR, what do you have it set to? It should be set to "Direct" mode (or what ever it may be called for your AVR).

I was messing around with my AVR turns out my rears and sub switched itself off. I now get sound through all of my speakers, but I do get voices and stuff in my rear speakers that shouldn't be there, is this normal using this method or is it a faulty configuration?

    Thanks !!

It's normal if you aren't using Autopilot to boot to SPMC.

I am using autopilot to boot SPMC, it boots up when I boot my Ouya. But I still get voices in my rears

Are you using a different launcher other than the default Ouya launcher?
