Nothing special here but with a bit of polish I think for some it could be a decent Blitz clone. Happy to see new blood on the OUYA but this is definitely not worth $10.00 in its current form.

I think that's my other problem with it - it MIGHT be a 5 dollar game without some sort of season mode or online play or whatever. But as is 10 bucks is pretty high for an Ouya/Android/IOS game - for example you can get X-Com on IOS for 10 bucks and that's a MASSIVE game with full polish and production https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xcom...wn/id639544885 - and that has multiplayer. But I can upgrade 3 Ouya games for 10 bucks, and maybe 4 or 5 depending so you gotta offer more than just exhibitions and hot-seat multiplayer for 10 bucks.

I think a lot is explained because they wanted to launch before Thanksgiving Day. What do you do on Thanksgiving? You get fat and watch football. "Oh look! There's an Ouya on top of my TV set. I wonder if it plays football ..."

People care less about a shitty purchase if they're "in the mood".

Either that or AWon and friends just like failing harder / faster or whatever ...

    Clunky and junky.

The game feels like its trying to be fast paced, but it just makes it look even worse. Any time I got tackled, I would just get 3 players running near me, and then when one of them barely comes into contact with me, theres no animation for the guy tackling me, and my guy falls to the ground with hardly any/no animation as well. Like a Family Guy fall. Plus $10 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high when I have bought MUCH better games for $1-$5 on the Ouya.

If I wanted to have more fun playing a football game on my Ouya, I'll load up a SNES emulator with Madden '94.

Pretty much in line with the rest of us.

EDIT: "To make matters worse there is an annoying sports news ticker that’s always present at the bottom of the screen which seems like a nice concession at first but will only further annoy you once you realize it’s running a short loop of fake information that only serves to take up screen real estate in an attempt to cover up the lack of actual streaming news."

0.0 See, I was skeptical of that ticker, but I'm not enough of an NFL wonk to call it as fake. Can anyone else confirm this, cause that's just cynical as hell if it's fake.

I'm pretty sure it's real but can't verify at the moment... And the ticker takes up little room and is a constant among football games. Many of those football games stream fake or non NFL related content. I don't see the issue.

Edit: followed your link and the ticker is entirely accurate in the game play video.

The ticker is accurate. Not sure what the reviewer is blathering on about there. Otherwise, the game is sort of crap.

The scores seemed right, and the basic stories seemed fine when I played it. Is it an actual ticker, though? Like, is the reviewer saying it's not connected to a stream of information (AKA will it still have the same scores and news in two weeks?)

But yeah, it seemed fine to me.

    1.5 ... pretty bad.

Although in their defense, they didn't have a lot of time. The Kickstarter launched, what, 4 months ago. They didn't have much to demo at that time, but I heard they put a good chunk of time into infrastructure before that.

I know it doesn't mean much because of past issues, but didn't they say they were going to initially release a beta version to OUYA and then start heavily updating it? I didn't go back to confirm that, but it seems like I remember that from somewhere.

I hope this is just a beta... I really want to like the game, but it is a little *blah*.
