Folks, really check out "Survivalcraft"! It's sooo much better than MinecraftPE! And it's constantly updated. Did not try to sideload it (since I still prefer the real Minecraft on big iron), but Survivalcraft is really nice. Includes the electronics stuff as well, no monsters (except werefolves) but lots of wild animals.

I am not really sad about this. Minecraft on mobile stinks. It's boring. The full version, however, is something completly different. But also very resource hungry, afaik.

Didn't Notch actually say at one point that the Android version of Minecraft was basically crap? I seem to recall that he was pretty unsatisfied with it. I'd guess that's probably a contributing factor.

Such a shame that there isn't a voxel based sandbox like Minecraft that's been in production and should be released as alpha on the Ouya soon.... OH WAIT.

wanted to get one and now I don't as there is no minecraft port or even a minetest point and that was the only reason I was going to buy the thing at all. hell I just wanted to know if minecraft was still coming are not as most people don't like being tracked by the nsa on twiter. also the smiles they have suck. also minetest is way better then that kickstarter for ouya cubed, witch looks worse then dscraft, witch you guys could also have asked to be ported. Also many of you guys asume minecraft was not ported because it had to be profible and that is not true, it was not ported because notch did not think the ouya was worth it, look at the pi version, it sucks and it is free of charge and yet they made it any way, why because the rasberry pi is populer and linux users don't like paying for stuff that should be free. Second sonic 4 was removed form the ouya store and it is another example of a big company not wanting to take the riscs. I am not hating on the ouya, but I am pointing out the issues that prevent lots of us from buying it.

Notch hasn't been in charge of minecraft for a very long time. That being said he had nothing to do with whether or not Minecraft was ported over so your paragraph is really misleading. As far as the pi having its own version thats well and dandy; but it is garbage. Thats the real reason it hasn't been ported; the minecraft pocket edition sucks and no one wants to play a mobile version on our console. If you're worried about the NSA you should care more about your ISP then any of the websites you use since they are the ones sorting all of your online activities and THEN sending it over to the NSA ops who happen to be working the screens that day. Sonic 4 was a rushed port that was also crap. It was removed because lots of people were having framerate issues and crashing. To which Sega in their infinite wisdom pulled instead of updating to make work.

It sounds an awful lot like you signed up randomly to our forums so you could hate on the ouya which is exactly what you said you weren't doing so I'm confused lol. None of the things you said sound like issues keeping anybody from buying the console. If you want a console for 1 specific game then I suggest Tiger Handhelds as they do what you seem to want. Where as this specific android device is doing just fine without moincreft or minetest or any other hundreds of clones lol.
