I am eagerly awaiting a response and solution for this. Just transferring the folder from /mnt/sdcard/Android/data to /mnt/usbdrive/Android/data with a file manager does not appear to work like it does with other games. Perhaps it's because when you "move" the game in the play menu the folder gets created with other files in it? I have no idea. Well, I got past the USB scan that seemed to never end by doing my Orange Ring Of Death fix by just waiting forever. It seems the OUYA has the ability to heal itself. I used the knowledge that GoldenAxeDwarf provided me about being able to download in sleep mode and I used it while I was sleeping. I now have all of Discover downloaded externally with still 3.2GB of internal free space left. I have no idea how much space it is taking up externally because it refuses to calculate storage and always leads to the Orange Ring Of Death. Anyway, I have conquered Discover and now it is my new Play. I feel something like this:

The icon that the game is ready/up-to-date is unnecessary. One to notify you that an update available is great, but "ready-to-play" should be the default, so I don't see why the checkmark is needed.

Video starting and going fullscreen automatically is also a pain in the rear. If you're going in to the detail page to try to move or download the file, the video usually starts before you even have a chance to make your selections.

My biggest gripe, which I seem to be largely alone in experiencing, is that USB seems completely broke for me now. Any time I go to download a game and select USB storage (flash drives in my case), I get a message telling me that an error occurred (and nothing else, no real details). I've tried 3 different flash drives, formatted to both FAT32 & NTFS and I get that error regardless. Anyone else?
I have the same problems with USB devices. Can't download because there is no USB storage. No option to download to internal memory. Can only download from discover. As a work around I installed filepwn which finally detected usb drive. So I copied usb otg onto it and installed it and I can now mount drives using that. Any apks I want to install I copy to usb. Can only use it for storage though.

I use ftpdroid, works quite nice.

Wonder if creating a symlink on the ouya and pointing it to the HDD in the case of games like O&C would resolve the issue, you would of course need adb setup to do this. Might be a nice option till what you're trying to do becomes a reality.

Sidenote: symlinks can cross file systems right? I think only hard links can not.

I get a clone of my xbmc that i transfer to the ouya via the micro usb cable. I tried 3 macs and one windows PC. All of which worked today before the update

    Same here.

But notice that downloading and/or updating leaves an undeleted .APK file on the internal drive (SDCard0) which you can delete manually using FilePwn.

This is a major bug and it's NOT getting a mention here. Unless it gets fixed people will eventually run out of room on their OUYA causing who knows what confusion and problems in the future!!!!!

PS: The .APKs are left in the sdcard0 folder even if you transfer the game to usb drive.
It's a lot easier being righteous than right.

At least OuyaBrew and me have this issue, as well. Others seem not to have it. Since OuyaBrew experienced it 5 days before the update, it seems to be unrelated to the latest firmware update. Maybe an application we have installed broke it? Check out the thread OuyaBrew started (and which I have referenced above). I listed all the games I have installed (and am going to edit this post to also add my sideloaded stuff, which I forgot to mention).
    Bye, Andreas
