FAT32 does not have a capacity limit. Windows XP and above enforce a false capacity limit at 20 GigaBytes for their own reasons (I believe because at higher capacities NTFS & exFAT perform better) There is however a file size limit cap which is 4Gigabytes.

2GB is the limit for FAT32 because of the limited number of clusters and max cluster size of 64KB.

You should tell that to my 500GB FAT32 Formatted Drive...
I think maybe you meant 2TB? since i haven't tried anything over 1 TB in FAT32 yet (any drive over 1TB is on my HomeServer and is ext4 Formatted)

The base specification of FAT32 has a limit of 2-16 Tebibytes depending on sector size. File sizes can't be more than 4 GB (technically 4 GB minus one byte).

Re: OUYA System Update (Version 1.2.667)

Is there a form to change the background image? If there is, how do I do it?

Well I doubt anyone's going to be connecting a 16TiB drive to their OUYA (cost alone may rule that out - unless someone really loves pushing the limits and cost isnt a factor) but thanks for letting me know, I didn't feel like looking up the high end.. (since by the time i reach the high end of FAT32 as a need i'll have long since stopped using it) (not all my terabyte drives get ext4 on my home server... portably I don't have a need for anything over 1TB (and usually 2.5in sata or ssd so there's the cost factor rising past that point)

also it seems most filesystems are not reccomended for anything over 16TiB (this is the recommended limit for ext4 as well)

*LOL* My bad - yes, 2TB.

I also re-confirmed with a calculator, and came up with the same answer as Microsoft...the real answer is 8TB:

I should also read up on the differences between them.

My hard drive is a Seagate Free Agent GoFlex 500 GB

It WAS formatted to NTFS, which worked fine until now, storing a few ROMS and media files for XBMC.

I don't mind having to change it though, or learning something new.

I'm not all like "Darn OUYA, ruining everythine! Rawr!" lol
Anyone of the many bootable Linux on CD distros work great for FAT32 formatting. I keep an Unbuntu disc around for file retrieval and or formatting when Win7 geeks out while working with external HDDs etc.

    As for the update.

I find the check marks on the game tiles is aesthetically unpleasing (makes it look too busy) These should be in the game info screen instead.

Background is ugly though not as bad as the old one.

Double tap menu is fine (I would get rid of it if given the option) but having to confirm I am exiting a game is an annoyance imho.

I have had some weird navigating issues like going to menus I didn't choose or dropping out of the Play menu in mid use.

USB storage is working great for me and sees all of my 64gb stick with no issues.

Its a huge step in the right direction but I will continue to use another a third party launcher I prefer over Ouya's.

Not really necessary to boot a completely separate OS ... if you're running windows you can (with a google search) find utilities for free that will format Fat32 over 20GB. One that comes to mind is HP USB Disk Storage Tool

Luckily Linux is my OS of choice (only occasionally booting into Windows to manage my digital comics collections or play the (few) games i can't play in Linux

I agree its not necessary, just throwing it out there as an option :nevreness:
