I am really hoping those are OLD screenshots of the main menu.
The Recently Played tile is missing, and that was such a huge improvement to have right on top of Play.
I use that tile all the time.
I'm sure it's an old work in progress screenshot.
I'm sure newer builds have that essential tile added back.
It has to be.

That makes sense but since it is downloading somewhere then it is an USB support issue. USB support has been my main and only big issue from the beginning and I wanted it "soon soon" but if it is released resembling what I'm experiencing and they are adding all this other stuff without focusing all their efforts on USB support then I'm very concerned. It isn't just a little buggy and like the rest of the console functions normally. My entire console is buggy now. It feels almost like all of it is in beta now, full of viruses, and like it doesn't have the power to handle it. Let me put it this way. If there is anybody that is jealous about beta testers having USB support right now then they have no reason to be. If it goes out anything like its current state then it won't be the exciting experience that everybody is hoping for and there will be a lot of customers complaining about crashes, freezes, bugs, random things happening, and so forth. People complain about unfinished games being in Discover. This is an unfinished part of the console that affects the whole thing. I fear, it would be another one of OUYA's mistakes. I wouldn't really have any issues with this update if they didn't say anything about USB support. If USB support is really coming this month then why do I as a beta tester not have it now? If I do have it now then why are they releasing this to the public already? If they want to put everything else but USB support in this next update I would be fine with it but I think if anyone wants what it is now then they should volunteer for it and not have it in a forced update. If OUYA really wants to rush things then I think the best thing to do is have the same update but without USB support, open the door on the beta by letting everybody and anybody who volunteers for it in, work their butts off on making it perfect, and release it on Christmas day. That is the only day that needs rushed for and is also most likely the deadline too for a successful holiday season. Just update everything else and get these under every Christmas tree. When people unwrap it and do their day one update then they would have USB support. It still may be buggy but it would be much better than it is now and after Christmas would be too late. We have been waiting too long for this for them to mess it up and we want it so bad that it would make the best Christmas gift for all of us. Julie should change her mind and announce Christmas day with a Kennedy going to the moon type speech. It might even increase it as a Christmas gift just by her bringing it up.

Betas have varying levels of exposure and purpose. I'm sure most of the issues you've seen will be addressed. They more than likely have some internal testing going on to confirm and re-create the issues you've reported, or at least that's how I usually run my shop at work.

Also.. not every user is going to attempt to download the entire library as you did. In fact, most won't do this at all. So, what they ultimately release with might not be the perfect solution for you specifically, but it will cover a lot more other people who just want another 16-32GB of storage.


I'm not sad to see the orange go. OUYA's UI looks like it was designed by a developer and not someone with an eye for user experience and design.
I'm glad they finally hired a designer to close that gap.

It's either a old firmware upgrading to the one we're all on, or the beta. I have my means to check and nothing new is out for the public.
