I checked and the chatbox time-out is six minutes and thirty seconds

Are we talking about the Shoutbox or the website? When I get logged-out on the Shoutbox, I can just click on:

And voila! I'm back in business. When I get logged-out on the website, I have to put my username again and click on Log in. The website automatically gets my password after I type my username, or the first two letters of my username. Cookies, gotta love 'em.

Are you sure it was random, or had six minutes and thirty seconds of in-activty pass?

Do you know how many times I refresh the website within one minute? Your brain would explode if I told you the number. I let myself idle-out out on the Shoutbox this last time so I could type in the exact words that I typed above. I didn't get logged out. And like I said, the Shoutbox idle-time has nothing to do with the website's log-out thingy. The website's idle time limit is 15 minutes, not 6 1/2 minutes, that's for the SB.
