Neon Shadow - Tasty Poison Games

    Hello FPS people!

I am very happy to announce the release of Neon Shadow.
A huge thanks to all the people who were so patient between the time of the official release date, and the actual release date.
I won't go into much detail as a fan shmargin already summed it up quiet nicely which I have cut and pasted below the official blurb...

To unlock the full game it is $5 (Get it and give it like damnit!)

See you in the deathmatch arenas!!!

    Cheers!

    Steve (I have explosives) McIvor

Tasty Poison Games, makers of Pocket RPG (one of my favorite games on Ouya) have released Neon Shadow. I was literally JUST recently thinking to myself that the Ouya needed a good FPS, and this game fits that bill nicely.

Ouya developers, pay attention! This is what a good FPS looks like on the Ouya. Bright clear textures, high frame rate, single player gameplay that's not just fighting bots in an arena.

This game is fun, looks great, and feels professional with a nice level of polish. My only issue so far has been I havent been able to join an online match, might just be new game issues though.

This game was an instant buy for me as soon as the single player hit the end of the demo, and I have been loving it!

Steve... You were online last night weren't you? Pretty much annihilating everyone it seemed.

Love the game. Still appears to be a critical bug still lurking from time to time (I had a couple of software lock-ups at random times in both campaign & Multi)... But other than that superb game. I can't really criticise, this is a huge undertaking. one you've all executed superbly.

Played a couple of single-player levels and I love the controls - the OUYA pad works great with it. I restarted it after taking some video, and was greeted to some strangeness.
Nice bullet effects on the walls -

I deleted my sideloaded version to play the official ouya version. I noticed noone else on multilayer and there didn't seem to be any buttons to exit online mode. I had to double tap the home button to exit. When I returned to the game, I could edit online, but the music glitched. Please fix.

I can say that this, just like the sideloaded version, supports my ps3 controller with no problems.

Apart from the bugs, THIS is how a non AAA fps should be done. I will be supporting this and purchasing it for the online (I competed the single mission...too short! )

Also, there doesn't seem to be a graphics setting, like the original Ancroft version does. IMO, the graphics seem to be set to "medium", even though I was able to play on the hardest difficulty (LOADS of enemies on screen) on the highest on the graphics settings.

I have to say that until the online multi player, controls and graphics settings are addressed, I can see no benefit from playing this over my sideloaded version.

Hope the devs can fix it!

EDIT: I can't press the "start" button on my ps3 controller to bring up a pause or options menu like I can in the regular android version that I can sideload on my ouya. Please could the devs fix this? I won't be able to buy this if it isn't as good as the version I've already got!

(Well since Steve started an official post i'll transplant my comment from the unofficial post to this one)

Very solid game. Exactly the shot in the arm Ouya needs. I hope they do well enough with this to do a sequel. Deeper single player ,and most of all bigger/badder multiplayer. i could see the use of a jump button and/or jump pads. Maybe even some warp pads. For the studios first FPS ,and the first one of the series this is a good start.

Camera movement is too slow! Overall the game has good presentation and multiplayer is OK but if you can't make the camera movement faster, at least add a lock-on mode with the left and right bumpers, regulating the triggers to shooting.

Adjust the Axis speed in the settings. I've got the slider 75% of the way to full nice and fast. Aim-assist also does a decent enough job, although I do feel it's a little too strong and seems to prioritise enemies for me. So I just switched it off altogether. I seem to manage much better without it, even online.

Hey Steve what about random armor drops on the maps. Does anyone else feel like the shotgun is useless ,and the plasma rifle is pray/spray. The only weapons i can get real frags with is the grenade launcher ,and the green whatever it is gun. Once in awhile i get lucky with the shotgun ,or rifle although not very often.

I can see this game growing in potential if its expanded upon in future updates. Maybe like different modes like a hunter mode where one of the 4 players has armor with extra health ,and everyone else has to take him out. Just some ideas i had while playing against whoever Toilet ,and Tasty Death was.

BTW i dunno what was going on with whoever Tasty Death was ,but it seemed like at one point i had them pinned in a corner laying on them with the rifle ,and they didn't die. i dunno what was going on
