So if I understood correctly, you are doing a kickstarter for a game you don't owe the IP to and will most likely never have ?
Not doubting the quality of your team or the potential of the project, but you'll need way more than the hope that you'll blow them away to convince them to let you use their IP.
If you haven't heard back from them before I highly doubt you'll hear from them again even if you come up with a full blown AA quality game. I was actually surprised they even told you they were going to review it. I would rather expect them to send you a C&D letter because of the kickstarter to be honest.

Lending a well known IP such as this one to a new, small and relatively unknown team such as yours is already super rare (not to say unheard of) but knowing how conservative Japanese companies are, specially when it comes to dealing with western companies, I feel you guys are throwing yourselves in an impossible mission and with a possibly sour ending. Once your backers realize they won't get a new ghosts n's goblin game they will be pissed, even if you give their money back, and having your name associated with a situation like this is never a good thing.

I feel bad because you guys do seem passionate about making a quality Ghosts n' Goblins game and a super mario wii style reimagining sounds quite interesting. Good luck, I would absolutely love to play a Ghosts n' goblins game on my ouya.

ahh someone else from my home town, good luck on your project. I bet you would start doing better on your kickstarter if you could show some game play. I'll be following this one for sure.

They have stated that if Capcom is not willing to work with them that they will just change the title and some of the imagery.

Either way the game will come out if funded. This is a game I'd definitely love to come to fruition!

I'd definitely love to play this game when it comes out for sure. I do wonder though, will the game feature better weapons than most of its older counterparts? A lot of the weapons were very clunky and/or unusable and having a vast amount of really versatile weapons is practically mandatory at this point for the series; a good example is Super Ghouls n Ghosts for the SNES, the best weapons were the Crossbow and the Dagger while most the others were practically worthless. Then again, the Dagger was always my fave.

I was fond of the axes on most of the GnG games, like the arc and angles(also the shield).

Thanks for watching Mike! We aren't the publisher, they are the publisher, and it's their IP. We did hear back from them before we started the KS, they said send us your game, and we'll discuss it. But they didn't promise to publish it. If they don't publish it, we can't use the GnG name. Few publishers will license video game IP.

Yes. This is going to be an important feature in Demon World.

The arc and angles of the axes are key to any GnG game. We will make sure we keep the tradition.

i wish you guys luck msingleton ,but i'm sure you been keeping up with recent gaming news. So i'm sure you know how Capcom's financial situation isn't the best as of late so i see being really far fetched to think they are really going to get behind your game ,and publish it. I already read last year that they didn't feel teaming up with western devs was a good move for them.

Only time will tell ,and i wish you guys luck.

    Seems promising.
The new "ghosts'n goblins" deserves attention, instead of the payment method chosen by the developers.

Maldita Castilla is great, but you can't get enought with only one game, if you like the genre.
Maldita Castilla is free... it's a choice of Locomalito, that always do that. He wants you to donate, if you like a game... like I did.
