So if I understood correctly, you are doing a kickstarter for a game you don't owe the IP to and will most likely never have ?
Not doubting the quality of your team or the potential of the project, but you'll need way more than the hope that you'll blow them away to convince them to let you use their IP.
If you haven't heard back from them before I highly doubt you'll hear from them again even if you come up with a full blown AA quality game. I was actually surprised they even told you they were going to review it. I would rather expect them to send you a C&D letter because of the kickstarter to be honest.
Lending a well known IP such as this one to a new, small and relatively unknown team such as yours is already super rare (not to say unheard of) but knowing how conservative Japanese companies are, specially when it comes to dealing with western companies, I feel you guys are throwing yourselves in an impossible mission and with a possibly sour ending. Once your backers realize they won't get a new ghosts n's goblin game they will be pissed, even if you give their money back, and having your name associated with a situation like this is never a good thing.
I feel bad because you guys do seem passionate about making a quality Ghosts n' Goblins game and a super mario wii style reimagining sounds quite interesting. Good luck, I would absolutely love to play a Ghosts n' goblins game on my ouya.![]()
