    Stream a DVD to Ouya

    Hey Guys

So am enjoying using my Ouya as a media center been using xmbc and working well.

However the one thing that I want to do and cant figure out how to or if is even possible is to play a dvd on my computer and then have it stream to my ouya so that I can then watch the DVD playing on my TV

This is the only thing missing for me at the moment

    Thank you for your help

Semi-non-answer: My brother uses a lot of different media streaming software, and he says it may be possible with VLC. No idea what the specifics are if it is, though.

Kainy could work. There is the option to show whats on your desktop within kainy and you could just have the dvd playing on your pc.

Honestly i found kainy to be tooo slow to stream at a reasonable speed on my setup via wireless and even via ethernet. I dont know if its my own setup or if the program itself just needs work. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Bottom line, yes if kainy works without slowdowns for you, you can stream whats on your pc to your ouya.

Haha I live in a small community and internet is very slow, to slow to stream anything unfortunately. On the whole I have been ripping DVD but have found with some of the new DVD I have purchased that the program I use won't Rip them any more, thinking maybe a new encryption or something.

Thats why I am looking for other solutions to watch these DVD now

If you want to play the physical dvd without having to rip it to a folder and create a library of your dvd's (which is the idea behind XBMC) just go and buy a $20 dvd player or update your ripping software.

Yeah, like what kev said. You can rip your DVDs into ISO files and stream them to your OUYA and they'll play exactly as though they're running in a DVD player with all the menus and extra features.
