gemHEX is a challenging puzzle game with a side order of cute, inspired by the '90s classic Gem'X for the amiga and c64. Play your way through 4 increasingly tough sets of stages, ably assisted by Kaci, your perky host. But hey, you don't have to take my word for it. I'm releasing this enhanced OUYA version free to celebrate my first release for the system, compliments of the spooky season. Hope you enjoy it!

Be advised: this game gets kick-your-butt tough very quickly, it's definitely recommended for those who like a challenge. It's currently missing the level editor from the PC version, but hopefully I can implement that for the next release. (If you're dead set on making some levels, sets from the PC version of the editor will be forward-compatible with the next release).

Thanks for the kind words : ). Really enjoyed working on the port for this one and seeing it running on an actual console, think my next project will be an OUYA exclusive. It's an idea for a local multiplayer game I've had for a while, so it feels like a good fit. Hope to updtae gemHex while I'm at it pretty soon.

I have been playing this game on the weekend and I must say, this game is polished and is very attractive. It responds to the controls effectively, the art is eye catching, the sounds are impressive and over all, playing this game has been a wonderful experience. I am very pleased with this game and I hope that I am able to enjoy your future games too. Thumbs up!

Thanks! I spent a little extra time on the new analog controls for the OUYA version to try and get them feeling good, I'm glad they work well for you.

I'm working on another project for the moment, but I hopefully should have a native version of the level editor for Early December. I'd like to integrate an option to download level sets from within the program itself, but that's going to be a bit trickier. Trickier for me anyway, as I've never done anything like that before.

Current plans for the next updates are:
- Integrate level editor for OUYA
- Integrate a cross-platform level uploader/downloader (hopefully)
- Add an option so players can produce level sets in sets of 10, 20, or 30, instead of just the full 40 per set
- Add new themed gem sets that can be both changed ingame on-the-fly and tied to specific player level sets (the classic Gem'X colours will of course still be there as an option)

The only thing I'd like the Chris Huelsbeck original musics in this, but I know copyrights doesn't permit that.

Yeah, I wanted to steer clear of anything that could cause a problem, so the game is all-new content in every area. I was a fan of the original music too, but I've heard the game is tied down in some kind of legal complications that make it almost impossible to clear the rights for it, which is a real shame. I hope you guys take the game as the fond tribute it's intended as : )

That seems like a very fair date and your planned features are also pleasant . I'll be anticipating this update
