Couldn't agree more with this; it's crazy how much it's seems to degrade with just about every update. In the entire 13 years I've been playing emulators, I've never seen one that's had nearly as many issues with the input as retroarch. It sucks too because the emulators seem great performance-wise, but without being able to use custom binds (or even have any binds work whatsoever, in some of these newer versions of retroarch), what does it matter? I really like their N64 and PSX emulators especially, but due to the controller issues with no apparent way to fix them, I've just been using the other options. I mean, honest question here -- why is it so hard to get the input to work correctly when so many other emulators don't seem to have a problem with it? It's perplexing.
But yeah, like you said, It's hard to complain about something that's free. I'm mainly just speaking out of disappointment because, aside from the controller issues, I really like retroarch. I hope they can finally iron out whatever it is that's causing those issues.
By the way, which version are you guys using these days, and/or which one have you found to be the most compatible with the OUYA? I remember using one of the test builds that worked pretty well, but I can't remember which.

But I have no idea how to extract APKs from the Ouya. Is it even possible without rooting?
