Yes, I'm aware of those services. But I have no idea how to extract APKs from the Ouya. Is it even possible without rooting?

Sorry to be so snippy over something that's free, but what good is that if it doesn't actually work well?
Couldn't agree more with this; it's crazy how much it's seems to degrade with just about every update. In the entire 13 years I've been playing emulators, I've never seen one that's had nearly as many issues with the input as retroarch. It sucks too because the emulators seem great performance-wise, but without being able to use custom binds (or even have any binds work whatsoever, in some of these newer versions of retroarch), what does it matter? I really like their N64 and PSX emulators especially, but due to the controller issues with no apparent way to fix them, I've just been using the other options. I mean, honest question here -- why is it so hard to get the input to work correctly when so many other emulators don't seem to have a problem with it? It's perplexing.

But yeah, like you said, It's hard to complain about something that's free. I'm mainly just speaking out of disappointment because, aside from the controller issues, I really like retroarch. I hope they can finally iron out whatever it is that's causing those issues.

By the way, which version are you guys using these days, and/or which one have you found to be the most compatible with the OUYA? I remember using one of the test builds that worked pretty well, but I can't remember which.

I can recommend the latest builts that are compiled by another guy. those are permanent more stable than the official release.

I haven't tried RetroArch on my Ouya yet, but I'm really surprised to hear about all these mapping woes.

On Wii's RetroArch, you can change the controls just fine. You'd think fundamental features like that wouldn't get lost in translation between ports, but...

I tried one of the site builds (mentioned in this thread back in December) and still had the same issues with controlling mapping.

Can you tell us exactly which build you're using and the link?

I just tried the latest test build yesterday and the controls barely worked at all in Mupen; I just don't get it. I know one of them had the N64 controls mapped pretty well (even with the right analog working as the c-buttons) but I can't remember which build it was. Guess I'll have to go through the archive and try them out until I find it.

As much as people seem to hate it, I've been using a 2 year old edition of N64oid for most of my 64 needs, and amazingly, it performs better than just about anything else I've tried (the 2.7 version to be exact.) It definitely doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Just wish I could get the multiplayer to work.

I'm with you bro. Controller will work but you have to have 2 inputs that don't match. My logitech controller and my ouya controller work together pretty well.:screwy:
