A shoot 'em up? Starfighter's gonna love this.
I think it looks pretty interesting. Last Shoot em up I played on the OUYA had some issues, like no sound. I'll try this out sometime soon.
Hi there,
I would like to introduce our just released game Teslapunk to you. Teslapunk is an arcade shoot-em-up with a unique art style by an award winning artist.
It comes with two different game modes. Arcade mode offers classic shooter game play with multiple levels, dodging bullets, killing enemies and boss fights. With a special feature called Voltage Burst you cancel bullets and turn them into score multiplier. Increasing the multiplier also increases the difficulty, resulting in a risk to score mechanics.
In Survival mode you have to fight through endless attack waves in a kind of endless runner manner. On the way you collect coins which can be used to upgrade your ship and buy items to increase your survival chances.
We have trailer on YouTube:

If you want more information, please also visit the game web page at:

The game was previously released as free2play for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. For the Ouya version we added game pad controls and rebalanced it accordingly. We also introduced 3 different difficulty settings and a brand new level for the arcade mode. We also change to a premium model. With the free version you can play the arcade mode close to the end of the first level and the survival mode is restricted in length.
If you want to play the full game, you have to unlock it for 4.99 USD.
Teslapunk also comes with a global leaderboard for each game mode.
For the developers, Teslapunk is developed using MonoGame, which I think is a great library and I love working with it.
We are a 3 person team, one developer, one for art and music and one game/level designer. And we are from Berlin, Germany.
I am looking forward to read your comments. Please feel free to ask any questions!

ITS AWESOME. Very smooth, good soundtrack, awesome experience. I purchased it right away. I would love to see 2 player support in an update!
I really dig the mechanics and the style. I'm keeping myself on a budget, but this is a definite buy next time I have some money left over!
Does this game have always online DRM?
Thanks for your comments!
@Gameboro yes, we also love to add 2 player support, but we don't have a time frame for that yet.
@Jon_TWR you only need to be online when you buy it and each time you might reinstall it. once unlocked, it runs without online check.
First of all, good job! It's easily one of my favorite shooters on OUYA thus far. It's not without it's shortcomings, but it's pretty great I must say!
Pros
- The soundtrack - It's awesome. Very fitting.
- The bullet patterns - Challenging but fun!
- The theme - It vaguely reminds me of Battle Garegga for some reason. Only much more grim.
Cons
- The "flickering" - It seems like it's not as smooth as one would think. Especially after playing a while my eyes get very strained from it.
- The constant shooting - I would very much prefer a proper shot/laser thing going on rather than a laser/slightly different colored laser.
Will I purchase this? Yes. Do I usually talk through questions? No. So why did I do it?![]()

Nice looking game. It's a purchase for me once I get paid. It plays well, the graphics are nice, and hopefully those two new levels mentioned for down the road make it out too. Very cool.
