I didn't get very far but so far I'm really enjoying it. You've got some great dialogue and manage to create genuinely interesting characters early on, I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes. Also; great job on the music!
No, not at the moment. It's something to consider for the Chapter 3 release, but changing the difficulty actually involves a sort of complicated issue behind the scenes. In any event, I also need to make the Intro skippable, which is already planned for the future.

Thanks for playing, glad you are enjoying it.

Great game! First time I have seen an OHRRPGCE game on the Ouya, and a very impressive one at that. Good work!

I'm not usually a fan of RPGs of this nature. But I got hooked last night. I started playing around 10pm when it first appeared, next thing I knew it was almost 1am (I had to be up at 5am this morning). The story appears well written and the narrative is really strong. It's good to have a nice build up, laying some good foundations for character development and mechanics to ease you into everything, rather than what most games of the 90's era did which was "We'll dump you in this town in the middle of nowhere with no explanation... Go be a hero!"

Anyway, I pretty much got Chapter 1 done last night and will move onto chapter 2 later tonight. I hope chapter's 3 & 4 aren't too far behind. I have a feeling we're gonna have a cliff-hanger at the end of this, and waiting is not a strong point when I know more is to come!

Right now the game is a two-man show (for no pay) so I can't promise anything soon. Fortunately, the soundtrack is only missing one piece (which is in Chapter 4) and I have another person who will be helping with the graphics in the future, which should help speed things along. There is lots to be done, but since Chapter 3 is shorter than Chapter 2 I think it will be ready some time in 2014. I am glad to hear the game kept you playing, at least. Feedback has been quite scarce.

    Understood.

Keep up the good work though. I'm thoroughly impressed with what has been done thus far. Can't really say a bad thing about it.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the game. That's not a bad idea, though I don't think I can at the moment. I do have a donation button on my website: http://www.jshgaming.com/motrya I appreciate the support, but please don't feel pressed--I'm making the game because I enjoy it, not to profit off of it.

I had played chapter 1 before on the PC version, but this weekend I re-played on the OUYA version. I was struck again at how cool the introduction of the "Scan" ability is. Sure, almost all JRPG games have some kind of Scan spell, and usually it is just a throw-away ability of little importance.

I love that Motrya makes it central to the plot, and I think it is a great example of what good writing this game has that the introduction of the Scan forlum actually has emotional impact.

The Poison duck + Heron + Turtle battle in the swamp in chapter 2 was insane! The only strategy I could work out was to give Murlor the knife and Dayang the heal scroll, then to take the duck out as fast as possible, then the heron, and then to desperately stab the turtle and heal-scroll myself as fast as I could. Both Murlor and Dayang were so near death so many times before it died that I think I just won by luck. Has anybody else figured out a better strategy for that battle?
