Does anyone know if you can use a mouse or trackball such as a tankstick on this?
I've tried and I just get the pointer moving around on the screen and couldn't find mention on the dev site.
Hi guys, does anyone knows if exist a version of MAME4DROID in where i can use filters like SCALEX2, HQ2X like the Robert Broglia .emu series? i like it a lot the visuals effects this filters gives to the games.
How the hell do I unmap buttons? I accidentally changed button mapping in the "configure general inputs" menu, and I can't unmap them. So I have button mapping from the mame4droid menu, and button mappings from the in game MAME menu overlapping each other.
Do I need to plug in a keyboard? On a PC i think the unmap button is delete or something like that
Hi. I just bought an ouya to give to a friend who I believe needs an xbmc/emulation box. I want to give him my xbox360 wireless Tekken6 controller as well for some MAME goodness. I can't get Mame4Droid to recognize the left and right trigger buttons. It is as if the program only support 6 buttons. Is there any way around this?
If someone has some info, please help.
Thank you for your time.
Good choice on the OUYA! It works great for xbmc and emulation. Make sure to check out Discover as well, there are lots of great games to be found there also.
Your tekken6 controller may have the trigger buttons set as analog and not digital. This will cause problems in some games and apps. The OUYA controller has both triggers(l2, r2) output analog and digital. Some games/apps look for only one of the 2 and if your controller is only sending the other signal it may not work.
You can use an app like keytest.apk to see what the triggers are outputting.

If they are analog(axis) you may not see an output but if they are digital you will see BUTTON_xxx.
Hope this makes sense. I haven't used Mame4droid a lot but have some experience with it and setting up different controller types.

Thank you for the reply. I will look into this :-)
Another random comment: I wish these emulators had a "fool's mode", where you could restrict less technical proficient people from screwing around. I would like to just configure it for him in a way that worked and couldn't be f***ed up.
If you install nostalgia and set it up for whatever emulators you have installed this will give him access to the games without having to directly go into the emulators themselves. You can lock nostalgia as well once set up so he can't make changes. Of course this won't stop more determined people from messing something up.
