How about the 5.1 HDMI passthrough problem (DTS/AC3)?
3.5 Can I do audio pass through?
While there are options in the settings for audio types. The answer is no. There isn't support for that currently. We are looking into it.
Ok hope to get it soon

    2 more questions:

    1) To play from NAS -> settings like this?
Tools → Preferences → All → Playlist → Services and Discovery, and enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).
Then go to VLC main menu and click View → Playlist and scroll down to Local Network. Locate Universal Plug and Play and click on it.

    2) ISO and other DVD-formats supported too?
Italy - pre order: Aug 10 - shipping number received: June 16 - sent: June 20 - received: July 15

Not sure about #1, however, I do believe most DVD formats work, but I haven't tried it myself,
I'd test it out just to be sure

I'm not sure what that specific problem is. No one has reported issues so far with audio.

No, VLC doesn't have UPnP. And this a bit out of our scope for the app. I can forward the request to the larger team on the android app. If they make it we'll get it too. If you have a NAS then I'd highly suggest XBMC you'll get a lot more out of it than what VLC can offer. XBMC does have upnp support. I think the app Plex does too, not sure. If you really want to use VLC though you can use a file explorer like Esfile explorer to browse the UPnP storage and when you click stuff select VLC to open the file. (Untested)

    Yes I do believe so.
I'm amazing, you probably just haven't realized it yet.

    Awesome
VLC has always been my favorite media player.

I heard this story once: a guy found his old camera. He took out the SD card but it was all scratched. When he put it in his computer, all the video files were transformed somehow in JPEG (pictures). Windows media player could only show the picture, but when he opened it with VLC it worked perfectly.
This day is grim, it is raining. What wonderful weather for Gaming!

    Back again!

I'm very pleased, OUYA at last playing 720p .mkv without annoying stuttering as was happening with XBMC. Was even playing 1080p .mp4 just off acceptable... So close!

Hardware decoding did not work for me... has it ever? 16 bit RGB was surprisingly worse (than 32 bit)! Looking forward to an audio passthrough.

I meant to say before I was looking at VLC for droid and wanting to get it on the OUYA and you went ahead and just did it! For all of us! Looks great too, good colours. Thanks heaps for this and promising to improve/update it too.

This won't let me open or listen to my music files, but video works great. It crashes every time I try to listen to music.

Oh no! Is it crashing when you select the music section or when you actually try to play a file?

I fix may be to rescan the USB drive. If you goto preferences and delete the USB has a location then rescan for it?

I'm not exactly sure I haven't heard about that or hit it myself.

Yes, this works over network shares.
