Lava Cat - PockCake

LavaCat is an action-adventure game in the style of classic platformers such as Super Mario Bros. Each level requires perfect timing when sprinting or jumping and accurate decision making on how to get treats.

LavaCat stars Lucky, a kitten who must triumph over caves full of dangers — including falling rocks, flaming lava balls, lava fish and mini volcanoes — if he is to be reunited with his family. To survive, Lucky needs to summon SpiritCat and become LavaCat, a supercat that can withstand lava and paw aside whatever obstacles lie in his path.

LavaCat includes two full game modes. The “adventure” levels are straightforward in their layout, while the “puzzle” levels feature mazes that involve warp pipes, hoop challenges and objects that deplete a player's energy meter. Also available on Ouya is a LavaCat minigame bundle, which includes LavaCat Run (an advanced level of LavaCat that uses forced movement), LavaCat Jump (in which the player guides Lucky up a series of rock platforms) and LavaCat Fly (in which the player pinballs Lucky upward off cat treats using gyroscopic controls).

Hi, my name is Charlie Madewell and I work for PocketCake, a small app developer based in Kansas City, Missouri.

I would like to invite you all to download our first game, LavaCat. Any feedback on this thread is appreciated (even “this game sucks,” so long as you explain why).

Combining agility and strategy, LavaCat is an action-adventure game in the style of classic platformers such as Super Mario Bros.

Now available on Ouya are LavaCat (which includes 19 levels and two game modes, “adventure” and “puzzle”) as well as LavaCat Minigame Trilogy, including LavaCat Run, LavaCat Jump and LavaCat Fly. I’ve provided links to the games’ Ouya preview pages below.
