They might have gotten pushed out, but I suspect they made a deal with Ouya. If Gridiron Thunder releases exclusively on Ouya in a few weeks, they probably made a deal.

Engadget appears to suggest they returned it due to gaming of a more non tech nature.
They rejected from FTGF on their own intention and said they want to focus the public attention away from the Kickstarter/FTGF and shifting it over to the game itself plus giving other devs the opportunity to get their games funded. Wow, didn't expect that. Kudos for that!
Gamer. Geek. Minimalist.
FTGF no longer has the $100,000 bonus... I have a feeling they got that. Anyway... the fund hasn't really been broken into now.
If they truly have a good game that can sell well, they might have decided they would make more money with non exclusivity and selling on all markets including iOS. There currently is no NFL Blitz style game in any market besides the the big consoles and Vita.
Anyone that thinks they pulled out due to the charitable kindness of their hearts is respectfully naive.
That said, the Blitz games on N64 and PSX play great on my Android devices. Even with virtual pad they are not bad. Not great either.
Soooooo... Gridiron Thunder releases today? Should be interesting.
