Hey everyone! I had to take off and take care of some bidnizz for a few days, and whoa nelly, I get back and see this and have a full inbox of PMs.

It's too bad that so many people feel this way. I love all our members, ruly and especially unruly. I've had a blast helping out here and getting to connect with everyone from first time players/users to awesome developers. Getting to help people out with their problems and steering people in the right direction. Volunteering my time on here to help keep things orderly and keep the conversations coming continues to be enjoyable and I'm happy to help.

That said, the censorship and seeming powertrip campaigns run by some have been something I've never agreed with. I hate receiving PMs from upset people asking me, "Why don't you say something?!" "Why don't you do something?!". I want everyone to enjoy their time here, not have to constantly worry about infractions or who they are going to wind up on the bad side of today. There's nothing else I can do but stand up and yell back at the hypocrisy and double standards. I'm just a SMod. Those of you worried about things can't see those threads, but I'm in there for you. Never doubt that! Killswitch and Starfighter have been amazing additions to the staff. They really have proven that they are here to help out in the best of ways in the short time they've been doing it!

All the regulars, and even most of the occasional OUYAForumers, have talked/dealt/conversed with me before and know that is how I feel. A 'community' is based not only upon the best of how we act/do/say, but also how we deal with the harsh negatives others have to say and how we deal with the worst of situations. As I said, most everyone has dealt with me and knows how I roll. Getting things done doesn't require excessive use of anything I get by having a green name on here. I'm no different from the rest of you except for the fact that I give my time to keep things tidy for your viewing pleasure...and to smash spambots with my FTWBanHammerOfJustice!

You all rock, so please keep stopping by and having fun. I'd hate to see you go!

    Also:

I love your thread and always check it for updates Wraith. I merge your stuff to try to keep it looking nice because I figured you didn't have the time. I also figured if it bothered you that you would yell at me to quit and I would, haha.

Long story short: I'm tired of the way things are going on around here. There has been a big decrease in member activity, mostly because of the way things are being run and how the community here is reacting to it.
As a dedicated member of this community, I hate to see things go down like this, and that's why I made this thread.

I really feel the need to list out what I feel is wrong with things around, hopefully y'all can back me up.

Not enough active staff: There are 4 active staff. RiotingSpectre, Killswitch, DrunkPunk, and Starfighter (and occasionally Bagheadinc). Every other Moderator I rarely see, which is a big problem. There needs to be some sort of staff overhaul.
I was here every day for a few weeks/months, as a Super Mod. Then I was told I wasn't doing enough. I didn't feel like defending myself (and still don't) so I bailed. Also, the console itself was starting to turn stagnant and I think because of the general disdain for the product, the community is kind of at odds with itself. It's polarizing - some people want more from the community while others feel it's already a bunch of hoobajoo over nothing. If the machine was actually kicking ass, you'd see far more people engaged in the forums.

I agree on this notion - "just being there" is a big part of moderation, in my opinion.

People are worried that little kids can interperet censored curse words when in reality, they dont even know how to sign up for the forum.
This has always confused me and I totally agree: if you're old enough to sign up for an account on anything on the internet, you're old enough to get the tit out of your mouth and suck up when and how adult language is conveyed. The censoring is ironically infantile.

It's turning the community on the staff: The stricter the rules are, the more infractions are handed out. More people disagree, and the staff (who are only doing their jobs), are disliked and ridiculed.

Those are my complaints, I may add, but you get the point (I hope).
These last two are directly linked, if not the same problem expressed differently. However, I can see all points of view on this. I think rules should be in place but they don't necessarily have to be enforced so heavily. The problem then is you get a motivated mod on the scene and everyone gets thrown in jail because Officer Fife is cracking skulls and taking names. Regardless, I believe this is an issue of indifference that starts at the top and trickles down. Throwing rules or removing rules isn't going to solve the problem - making sure those who are in put in positions of authority are acting appropriate to those the forum serves is a better angle, if you ask me.

The reality is, every two months or less, the forum has had a call from it's members to completely shakedown the leadership. You can glean what you want from this kind of outcry, but my instinct tells me: if this is the case, then the unwritten law is the forum is being run exactly the way those who own it want it to be.

    Patterns speak for themselves.

I agree with this thread. It's hard to anything at all on here without receiving a notification that you broke the rules. This forum stands for a lot I hate! Censorship is far from something I enjoy. I wish there was a forum for Ouya that wouldn't silence everything you do and say. I like everything goes whether you agree or not. Not rules like No cursing, no posting pictures of hot chicks faces, no conversations that include the name but not the link of a rom site, no disagreements aloud at all, no talking, no farting in your chair when typing, no mentioning consoles we don't like, no belching, don't even think about touch that keyboard when thinking dirty thoughts!!! O.O No but seriously this is not a very easy forum to speak on.

We had actually changed the rules today like ten minutes ago. You'll find that both sides will benefit from the revision
