We can always lower the price if the general feedback is that it's over-priced but we don't have enough feedback to make that call.
I gave it a shot, and I have to say that I agree with the other posters here on the pricing. I suspect that you might be looking at your game with a little too much bias -- it's an amusing minigame, but it really doesn't compare with TowerFall. I can't imagine any scenario where I would get my friends together and play King of Opera for a couple hours; and after a couple rounds it would get dull to spectate as well.

My rule of thumb is generally that I'd be willing to pay about $5 for each hour that I expect to spend playing a game (so about on par with going to a movie). For me, that would set the appropriate price range for this game in the $5 range.

Of course, you might know your potential audience better than I do. But as someone who has bought a fair number of Ouya games, as well as donating to authors of some games that they've made available for free, this one is priced much too high for me.

Off topic but I find it hilarious because that's exactly how I judge my purchases. "Well a movie would cost $12 and only provide two hours of entertainment. This game will probably give me 5 hours of entertainment and only costs $5! What a bargain, I need to buy it!"

But if the game looks like a minigame or has no real potential for solo play (or isn't interesting enough to play for hours on end with friends) then unless its 99cents-$2 I don't even consider it. I haven't tried the demo but I think $5 would even be too much.

As he said though, you have the sales figures and might know more than us. Just my 2 cents.

DanTilly, jmminch, shaminy - thank you for your feedback!

King of Opera is a family game and it does provide hours/days of fun for almost anybody who can hold a controller and press a button.

King of Opera is not a "gamer game", like TowerFall is, in a way, and thus it can be played by a small kid and a grandparent. This is valuable for people looking for games the whole family can play.

Not sure if the above points should make King of Opera cost less than TowerFall - both games are pretty unique as well as great multiplayer games that fit a little bit different play setting and group of people playing.

    Hi Tuokio,

we had lots of fun playing this one on the iPad. At the beginning, we were playing a lot, later from time to time. Gameplay becomes somewhat repetitive and there's limited variety, so I don't agree with you about charging $15 to unlock the full version. I expected $4.99 and I don't believe any of the games on OUYA are or will ever be of such a high standard to justify such premium game prices.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is one of the best so called party games and it does have the potential to improve, but it is highly overpriced. Too bad for such a fun game!

The demo for this game is a lot of fun! I, like a lot of other commenters, found the $15 price a bit high. Almost everyone that has played the game at my house thought the same thing - at $2 or $3, or maybe even $5, many people would buy it. As it stands at $15 though, we are all sticking with the demo.

Thanks for the additional feedback N0mi & DrDrew - appreciated!

We released King of Opera update with a new, brief and brutal "Last Man Standing" game mode!

We also lowered the price to $4.99 based on the feedback on this thread.

Well I got a bunch of friends around yesterday and we ended up playing this game for absolutely ages - everyone really enjoyed it - and we ended up buying it, so that's one sale right here! Great little game - lots of chuckling as the opera noises, especially when the fat lady falls over the edge.
