OUYAForum Looks to Start a FREETHEGAMES Fund Project w/ Experienced Developer - Apply

Hello, OUYAForum.com plans to partner with ONE developer/development team to bring a game to the OUYA Kickstarter FREETHEGAMES Fund. We would like to be 50% partners in a project that would bring a potential groundbreaking game to the console, via the FTG (FREETHEGAMES) Fund. If any developers are interested in this, please send me a private message on this forum or email me at OUYAForumcom@gmail.com. Here is some more info.

    What OUYAForum has to offer:
    - OUYAForum would like to be part of a FTG Fund project by offering our marketing expertise, and resources. We have plenty of advertising space, as well as the ability to contact many OUYA gamers.
    - OUYAForum is the largest unofficial OUYA fan site on the net, getting 3,500 - 6,000 unique visitors daily with 30,000+ pageviews daily (and growing every day).
    - OUYAForum has a massive presence on social media (over 30,000 Twitter followers and over 3300 Facebook likes). We also run the largest Google Plus OUYA community with over 3100 followers.
    - Owners Ed and Brian have been doing internet marketing successfully for the past 12 years.
    - Owners also own 100% share of CrowdFundingForum.com (The largest Crowd funding related forum on the internet), with over 60,000 twitter followers that are into crowd funding (i.e. kickstarter / indigogo). We plan to use Crowdfundingforum to market this project heavily as well.
    - We will use all these resources to promote not only the Kickstarter campaign to our fullest, but also the game when released.
    - OUYAForum has a growing community of OUYA fans that want to see OUYA and their games succeed to their fullest.

    What we plan on doing:
    - We would like to utilize OUYAForum to help developer ideas for a future game. Perhaps you already have an idea for a game... no worries, we won't want to drastically change anything. However, we feel that if OUYA fans have input into what they would like to see in a FTG Fund KS project, there will be a lot greater chances of seeing it succeed with funding. We can make it an fun experience for all involved. We could launch a special folder on the forum dedicated to the game, where we could post polls for ideas that we have, and gather feedback to make the game as OUYA fan friendly as possible.
    - ONLY 1 developer will be chosen for this project. We will only be teaming with one developer, so that we can offer all of our marketing resources fully to that one project.

If you are interested teaming with us for your FTG Fund KS project, and your project has not yet launched on Kickstarter, please apply by sending me a private message or email to ouyaforumcom@gmail.com. Feel free to apply even if you don't have a game idea yet picked out but think you can come up with a general game. Note, you MUST be a developer or developer team in order to apply, as we don't have any developing experience, other than managing several Android projects in the past.

We will pick the game project that we feel has the most promise from a developer that we feel can make it happen.

Marketing is definitely an incredibly valuable part of making a game, but 50% is a huge ask. Too much in my opinion, especially when you consider 50% is in the ballpark of what some VC investment deals. I'd say you might want to re-evaluate your offer to make it more attractive for a developer.

Everything will be negotiable. However, the funds raised will go toward developing the game. We feel that the time and effort that we will be putting into this will be justifiable. If no one is interested, then we will elect not to do it. As most KS campaigns have seen, they are having a hard time raising enough funds to qualify for the FTG fund. We feel that our resources would be enough to put a developer over the top.

Fair enough, just wanted to share my initial reaction. Others, please feel free to read what he's offering and give your take on it. It's an interesting proposal none the less.

It does seem like a good offer! Especially as I bet the marketing would help to fill the kickstarter fund as well as advertise the game.
If only this was happening a few months in the future.

An excellent opportunity for both sides, indeed. The Krassenstein brothers sure know their stuff, that's for sure.

Ahhhh... "and your project has not yet launched on Kickstarter" Boo. Lol, honestly though, our project is pretty much road mapped, the idea of someone coming in and demanding changes this late in the game could be frustrating to deal with. XD Went through that with a publisher 2 1/2 years ago with our alpha, it was like watching them try to fit a square peg in a round hole, they basically wanted something with the simplicity of an auto runner and we had a arcade style brawler that was, "Too hard" by their standards. 8 rounds and 2 months of nerfing and we gave up working with them.

Ok... a little confused. Eddie.. do you have a game you have in mind that you want made? Is that why you're asking 50%?

You should consider that OUYA themselves are only requiring 30%, handling all of the transaction fees and curation, as well as promoting it to some extent in their store and website to the much larger OFFICIAL OUYA audience.

Unless you're involved in the content creation or co-funding in some capacity, 50% better be VERY negotiable.
