I agree that mid October sounds good. Will give me chance to have more of a game to show too (will try to time it with my first proper public push for gathering interest). I think once we have all discussed the final details of it that we should maybe create a new thread to summarize and get the final input before we all jump into video making.

I'm curious, what does everyone plan to show in their video? Would be nice to hear your general ideas so we can help each other make it a stronger message and brainstorm together. Personally, I'm going to focus on the developer side by showing a game working on my computer, how I click a button, wait a few moments for it to compile and then can instantly test it on my OUYA.

well personally I will be showing something of similar nature. Pretty much showing how it is the only console that I can use as a dev kit for free and what that has enabled me to do.
We should try and make sure that our videos have enough different about them to make each one unique. Basically if someone is about to release a video, check what other people have done for theirs first to make sure there's enough variation going on with the content we all put out.
If someone makes some sort of result that we can use then I'll make this thread a sticky in General Discussion.

Derp. Didn't see this before. =P Well, looks like there is enough interest. Fan made videos are a great idea to promote Ouya.
I pitched an idea to Julie on twitter for a commercial that shows off people couch gaming with friends on their Ouya. There are lots of good ideas in this thread though. Anyway, she told me if I made it then they will air it. So I think that if the Ouya community makes an ad it stands a good chance at becoming official. Personally, I think couch gaming is Ouya's main strength... Their "$60 dollars for a game!?" campaign also highlighted one of Ouya's strengths (TV gaming on the cheap) but negative messages always have a chance at backfiring (and it did.. but maybe not because of the message but because of the vomiting and spine ripping lol)...

I have a fun video of friends & me playin' OUYA the other day. It's just hilarious and gives a good introduction of how fun this little box can be. Will trim it a little and then upload it somewhere to throw my 2cts in ^^

So not so long back in a previous thread a few of us came up with the idea of doing short community videos. These videos would be put onto youtube and give a personal insight into your own individual experiences with Ouya. Apart from bringing the community closer and giving Ouya a little publicity in the process, it would be a way of seeing the stories, experiences and people behind this little box, be they gamers or developers. The idea is to show in your own way why you like Ouya or what has drawn you to the console.
So as a community we should come up with or discuss some guidelines to this. Please feel free to suggest ideas and discuss current ideas.
The guidelines discussed so far are:
-Videos should be 30 seconds to 2 mins long (anything longer has potential to lose peoples attention).
-Videos should be posted after Oct 14th 2013 but as close to that date as you can manage in order to gain more impact.
-Messages and opinions within the videos should try to remain POSITIVE as this is not a hate campaign.
-Make sure to post a link to your video in this thread when it is uploaded.
-Post the link on Twitter if you can with hashtags #myouya #doyaouya #lovemyouya (either post all 3 or maybe have a vote to decide on 1?) and maybe include the Ouya twitter account @playouya
-Make sure your videos are honest and genuine.
-Keep it legal.
Any other suggestions? What will you include in yours?
Merged the 2 threads and changed the title so we can keep everything together.
Added a poll for hashtags. (Ok might be doing it as I post this response...)
Voted for #doyaouya. Has a catchy thing to it.
