But they started on PIVOS and for some extent OUYA because they have hardware to test and some codes to look at. Before they expand it to other android boxes which kinda miss or hit since some fixes might work on one hardware but not for others. People who decided to buy different android would sometimes stuck to 2 choices , xbmc official build with latest features & fixes but would have some problems for certain hardware OR unofficial XBMC build which compiled by those vendor which fixes particular hardware issues but most of the time wouldn't get merge upstream in team xbmc official build. Most would have to stuck with latter.

    Techinically we've been told this XBMC on OUYA is not officially supported by team xbmc. But it works on by an official team xbmc member port version 12.2 and included fixes for certain hw. They will officially supported when version 13 released but with the legal issues hanging around it might not see the day they declared.

    Airplay would works when Koying rebase his fork to Gotham. His work on XBMC on now is based on latest stable which is Frodo. But then don't hold much hope on Airplay because on IOS7 device ,airplay function on XBMC (at least on PC side) is very miss than hit. It is on Apple side of things since IOS6 device works just fine.

    I doubt some would be happy even they get multichannel PCM. Most I read kinda obsess with lighted-up logo on their reciever LOL.

    For the hacks, some on MINIX did dirty hack on it. http://minixforums.com/threads/how-t...nd-spdif.2041/

    But it would be sometimes hard for most user to flash system file on his own.

    thanks for answering my question. I guess it's just a matter of wait and see..

    I've been using these steps in this post to get passthrough on my Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver:

    http://ouyaforum.com/showthread.php?...ll=1#post28551

    Basically I have to turn the "TV Out" on everytime I want to watch files with DD/DTS. Stereo file audio like in movie trailers comes through the TV speakers. It would be really nice not to have to change anything with this fixed version!

    I'm not sure if its a bug or what with XBMC.. but every time I upload new videos into my external HDD from my Macbook and try to play them on XBMC, they play fine for about 5-10 seconds, then they start to glitch out or stutter really bad or sometimes freeze. However, when you restart the OUYA and get XBMC back on again and replay them, they're fine. Is that a bug that could be ironed out in a future revision?

    I doubt it has problem because you "hot plug" it in to OUYA. Try plugg it in when OUYA was off and power it on together. See if the problem still exists.

    As promised, here is "SemPerMediaCenter" or "SPMC", with multichannel PCM
    As passthrough is not working and would interfere with Multi PCM, I've hidden the corresponding settings, to avoid confusion.
    Please report success and failures.

    (If possible, use the torrent method):
    Torrent: http://filez.semperpax.com/m1t4

    Nice. Will try it later.

    But few got passthrough working without any trick. I read at least 2 users said that and guess it down to their reciever didn't respect information OUYA throw them anyway. One use Harman and One use Yamaha. So does this mean they should stick with older build?

    Koying. You are awesome. Two questions.

    1) this fixes the recent audio issues right?

    2) any reason to use this if one is using the version before the last update?

    @oldpoem
    Well, as I said, the fact that ac3/dts is passing through is purely accidental, IMO, and cannot be considered reliable.
    I'd rather have them at least try SPMC, report the results and use the one they prefer.
    Note that SPMC is using another signature, so you can have XBMC, XBMC on OUYA and SPMC together.

    @magister:
    1) If by "issue" you mean does this version soft decode ac3/dts: Yes
    2) Multichannel PCM, if you have a 5.1+ AVR connected to you ouya
