    Simple Controller Question

Okay, I bought my OUYA intending just to play these nice indie games by myself. Well I have gotten my fiance interested and now she is wanting to play the console with me. GREAT!

Only problem is, I no longer own any other consoles and I only have 1 OUYA controller (so no spare ps3/xbox controllers either).

I understand a lot of the games work with the PS3 controller. Does it have to be the official controller? Or can it be a nice cheap one like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Elite-Wire...rds=controller

Trying to avoid spending an arm and a leg, don't really care if the controller is really nice just looking for affordability and what will work easiest to plug in and play right away. Advice?

EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't really care if its a ps3 controller, I'm just looking for the cheapest generic that will work with most of OUYA's games. Trying to play games like Red with the girlfriend. Bonus points if it will work on the pc as well.

My homeboy Silent Rob actually made a thread not so long ago. That's a list of controllers that work/don't work with the OUYA.

    Check that out.

Thanks meltdown, notice they say ps3 generics work -- hoping the specific type doesn't matter. I'll just make sure to get one with a usb connector just in case.

EDIT: The only generic ps3 controller that is guaranteed to work is this: http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Wirele...rds=controller

which has some pretty horrible reviews...hmmm to order this and pray or go with the one in my OP and pray it works with OUYA, decisions decisions..

it all depends, but i did hear that a usb controller works better then a 3rd party bluetooth one if that helps at all. They're also usually alot cheaper as well.

Want a particular indie game on the OUYA? PM me the name of the game or the team who made it and I'll be happy to send them an email and PM you their response

Yeah I don't mind the wires at all because whatever we do decide on probably won't get much use. Just new to this type of stuff, I do have a $50 amazon giftcard so I could buy another OUYA controller but don't really want to waste $50 on something that won't get much use.

On the other hand, don't want to buy a controller that doesn't work with the OUYA cause then I'll have no use for it! haha

I appreciate meltdown's help finding that thread but it does only have a few controllers out of the tons available. Anyone on here use one that works especially well (and is a generic brand)? Thanks again.
