I'm not a big fan of spaceshooters and when I buy them I inadvertently end up dying on the 2nd/3rd level over and over until I ragequit.
Whats the difficulty level on this game? Would a n00b be alright or is this for hardcore fans only? Is there a difficulty toggle? Sorry if these have been answered, if the game was $1-2 I wouldn't question and just buy it. Also the file size is too large I would have to delete games to even try the demo.
Thanks in advance.![]()
The difficulty is unique is SM- you don't die from taking hits outright, you die from running out of time. Everything that happens affects the timer. You kill an enemy, you add a second or two to the clock (a miniboss might add 15 seconds or more, whatever). You get hit, you lose 3 or 4 seconds. It's a really interesting system.
You pick up powerups for your main gun pretty regularly, can power it up I want to say 10 times, get hit and you lose a bunch of levels of power for it (at least 4, maybe more?), so the thing that tends to be the real killer is when you're up against a tough boss and you have 8 levels on your gun, you get hit a couple times and get ratcheted down to maybe 2 or so (you can re-acquire some, but not all). That tends to make it near impossible to kill the later bosses in time.
So yeah, don't get hit, pretty much, like in any shooter, or you get a double whammy here. You just have to learn how important it is to keep your weapon level up I guess.
Overall it's a really good game, though. I have it for 360 and Vita and tried to DL this the OUYA version the other night but kept getting stuck on the login with Facebook screen. Highly recommended, it's a very learnable, fun game.
I believe you hit A to back out of the Facebook login. The menu system needs work but for yes push O and no A I believe. You'd think you'd highlight on or the other and press O or at least label Yes with O and No with A. They definitely didn't customize the menus for OUYA.
Amazing game. And well priced. For sure a top 3 games on OUYA.
Played it. Seems to work on a (usb) ps3 controller. What language are the pilots speaking in though?
Not a fan of these types of shooters, but the artwork and backgrounds make the game appealing and I'm kind of digging the gameplay itself. This maybe my first shooter purchase.
